G'day Helpmeeeee,
Welcome to beyondblue forums!
High pain levels and exhaustion would be really worrying for me, I'd seek help too.
Going on what you've written, sounds to me like you are over doing the exercise in some way. You might be overdoing by any measures like - duration, intensity or type of exercise. Exercise too long, that'll hurt. Exercise too hard, yep that'll hurt too. Play first grade rugby/netball, yep probably going to hurt too.
So ask yourself, what exercise doesn't hurt? Often walking and bodyweight exercise is an answer.
If u been aiming at 30 minutes a session and after three days that hurts, then only do two days and have a rest day, or cut the third day down to 10 minutes.
Similarly if you've been smashing out the high intensity interval training, well even pro athletes go careful with that exercise type regardless of if they're cycling, running or swimming etc.
At my local squash club we had a re-occurring issue of highly motivated 40+ year old males aiming for three hours of squash a week because they loved it! Then after a month or so of that they would hurt their back/knee/elbow and drop out totally. So I was always telling the new motivated people, take it easy, play for life, once a week for the first month, then twice a week for the second month and reassess.
If i'm off target let me know, I can aim advice better if I know your circumstances better.

Yeah that definitely makes sense. I find that exercising a lot causes flare ups of pain for me, but its really important to stay healthy, which means like 150 minutes of moderate activity per week. I've been talking to a few people about it and one of them suggested riding a bike, because it has less impact on my knees, so I've been doing that more. I'm far from getting enough exercise, but I guess for now I have to start small and work my way up. Thank you so much for your advice and I'll be sure to use that in the future! have a good day 🙂

You are welcome Helpmeeeee.
I would be happy to look over your current exercise and lifestyle schedule/plans that currently exist and/or help you make more plans, or refine current exercise plan.
Post it all up if you want that from me. It's the kind of thing I enjoy doing, so it's all cool!
We would start by answering...
What work and exercise have you done over the last 7 days?

Hi P87, I think/feel I'm allowed to welcome to you to Helpmeeeee's thread. We are working towards tips for managing depression and pain.
If you've done no work and no exercise over 7 days, please elaborate upon things that have taken up time for you.
