I feel like sometimes it is hard to accurately describe symptoms/right verbiage to physicians and family/friends. I want this to be a thread where people can post their symptoms, and hopefully people can learn from each other but also feel understood when hard to explain symptoms match up with another.
For me, I feel it is hard to describe how I feel depression affects memory/how time feels. When it is 3 or 4 in the afternoon and I think back about the morning, it feels years away. Memory feels just numb and distant so it feels like its a long time ago. Has anyone else experienced this?

Dear Jacrafferty~
Welcome, and I agree with you. Trying to get the message across is hard, bad enough wiht medical people, worse with freinds and relatives unless they have had similar experiences themselves.
I try to write thngs down for my doctors, so at least I get the chance to think in advance and put things the best way possible without pressure or rush.
You asked about perception of time, when I've had a bad depression anxiety and PTSD I found I was separated from myself, like looking at myself from some other unspecified distant place, and time, events and emotions like love were not really understandable and did not seem 'to apply'
I also was puzzled why even the best intentioned and gentle approach could raise anger and resentment in me. I've figured that one out now I think, but at the time was hard to explain.
Do you think you manage to get the message across to your medical personnel?
Croix
