Hi so uhh i am new to therapy and opening up about my struggles and problems but i have been going to a therapist for about 3 years now and only started to open up completely about my struggles.
i had a very ruff childhood so much that i cant remember much about it and being in therapy it has gotten me to remember some of my childhood and its not pretty to say the least.. i have been told have i have high functioning depression. and so opening up has been really hard for me and depression has taken my social life completely, i never go out or do things with friends, i go out for work and school and thats it..
i was looking for some advise about getting out my comferzone.

Hey unknown-08,
Thank you for posting here. First of all: Huge congratulations on being completely open with your therapist. It can genuinely take a long time of building trust and connection to feel comfortable being fully open. It is a real accomplishment!
It is also a courageous step to take to want to get outside of your comfort zone some more. One trick for getting started is to write down a list of all of the things that you would like to do but which are currently outside of your comfort zone. You can then choose one which feels the most achievable and start there. This can be one way to get a sense of what might be the first few steps to take.
If you ever wanted to talk to a counsellor, you can reach the Beyond Blue Support Service on 1300 22 4636, or you can use webchat here: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/.
Let us know how it goes for you, if you like. A lot of us here will be able to relate and will be cheering you on!
Kind regards
Sophie M
