I’m 52 and lived with depression and trauma related issues as long as I can remember.
I’m really low at the moment and have been really struggling and pushing myself to get up, care for myself. Music and walking help me at times. What do other people living with depression do I’m their low times?

Hi 🙂
I'm really sorry you've been dealing with this. I'm only a teenager and these feelings consume me every day and It breaks my heart to know that there are people out there that have been feeling like this their whole lives. I just spoke to someone on lifeline and they told me to try and think about times I have felt happy and passionate. Right now I feel really depressed so its really really challenging to think about things that have brought me happiness but I know deep down that there are things that have made me happy. I'm hoping you can use what I'm saying to reflect on times that you have felt happy. Think of moments that made you smile or things that get you excited and really try to lean into that. Even if it is just something small to start with. I know it can be really hard to try and make changes in your life when you are depressed but I have come to learn that it really is up to you and there is joy in this world to be had so we might as well try our best to fix our mental health and try to live life to its fullest while we are here, right?
