Worst Joke Wednesday

Hi all

I know a while back there was a thread with some jokes on it - just to try and lighten the load for folk and to provide a few jolly japes and spiffy spifferoons (those words etched in my memory bank from the late and great Kenny Everitt).  However, I was far to lazy to try and find the other thread, so thought I'd start up a new one WJW.

Here we go people, something to start you off with:

"When I was a small boy, I had a dog named Tax.  I'd open the door and "Income Tax""

"That very same year, I had a bird called Enza.  I'd open the window and "Influenza"

Now, they can't be done on any other day - for it is after all, Worst Joke Wednesday.

See if you can beat either of those?

Ooops, there went my memory again. I posted a riddle & intended to reveal the answer Sept 1, if nobody had solved it.

Looks like no one did, even with extra days... too much cloud around, I guess.. because the answer is: Shadows.

😀Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha I like that one, Fiatlux!

Anyone with an iPhone - have you asked Siri "tell me a joke"? She's got some really awful jokes! I'm not sure I could post them, like if Apple owns them, or not.

Well I suppose if 😸 can ask riddles we all can:)

Riddle: When is the only time that today and tomorrow come before yesterday?

I'll give the answer in a couple days if no one gets it (it is easy)

... & she said to the witch-finder, “If I’m a witch, you’re a frog”. ...

That's my awful joke I made up, just for BB!

Dear mmMeKitty

I"m sorry I don't get it:( Your joke is amazingly subtle.

Dear Fiatlux

You are of course quite right, so that earns you another:-

What English word retains the same pronunciation, even after you take away four of its five letters?

What do witches in Australia ride? Broomerangs

Croix,

What English word retains the same pronunciation, even after you take away four of its five letters?

Thanks for this, I will work on the answer...

Croix, I was just thinking, if thinking makes things so, as was the case for most so-called witches, then, were it true, the moment the witchfinder asserts the woman is a witch, she can have the power to turn him into a frog. She has the last laugh.

My thinking turned into a poor joke, I guess, [pouting LRC] but I thought is was funny at the time.

I haven't come up with an answer to your English word riddle.
