The Transcendent Rainbow Cafe - social space for LGBTI members

It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

Hi Sez

I’ve started another thread:

https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/sexuality-and-gender-identity/exploring-gender-sexuality-in-my-40s

Hi Louis,

i feel for you, you’ve had some bad experiences. But please don’t feel hopeless. Perhaps it would be good that you write to a person you might want to meet that you only want to meet for coffee, socially and not for a one night stand. And if the person turns up and wants more, you could leave? You do not need to do anything that you are not comfortable with.

When I’m depressed I feel helpless and hopeless but there is also good in this world and we must try and focus on that and try again even after a bad experience. Do you have access to counseling? It might help you to discuss what happened and find some strategies?

take care x

Hi Sez

My thread is in Gender & Sexuality / Exploring gender & sexuality in my 40s

Hi and welcome Louis;

I'm so glad you posted because as difficult as the dating scene might be, having like-minded souls to share with is valuable beyond words. It takes courage to put yourself out there so well done. Lovely to meet you btw.. 😃

As well as connecting with people and info on here, qlife.org.au or au.reachout.com are good places for support. There's also loveproject.org.au for lgbti couples and singles to talk and connect. 🏳️‍🌈
I'm not really up to date with popular sites, but you may be able to find out more at the above spaces. I'm pretty sure there's groups to join for social activities.

There's even lgbti travel groups who trip overseas or to popular Oz destinations.

Please don't despair Louis; at 24 life's about discovery, adventure, mistakes and learning from them. Love happens when you least expect it. Have a read of Andy's posts above. At 60 his life's taken a wonderful turn for the better. Who would'a thunk?! 🥂

Hope is eternal...

Don't be a stranger ok. Keep posting and talking, it's therapeutic and good for the soul.

Kind thoughts;

Sez

Hello Everyone

i hope it is ok, if i follow along here. i am a female in her early 20s and im pretty sure that i am bisexual, i havent been in a relationship with another woman yet but havent really had the chance either but it is something i am open to, curious about and i have had feelings for other women/girls before too. I havent been brave enough to come out to friends and family yet though.

Anyway, it is nice to read some of the comments here and i hope to get to know some of you too.

Hi Bella and welcome

I myself also consider myself bisexual. I have not been in a relationship with a woman either. You don't have to have had a relationship to know sexuality. Most people assume you are straight even before a relationship with the opposite sex, the same can be for both genders etc.

I just want to wish you welcome and to feel free to ask questions

Hello MsPurple

Thank you for the welcome, its good being here with like-minded people. I agree, unless someone says they are something other than straight, it is just as assumption. im quite accepting of my sexuality either way 🙂

Hi everyone!!!

I reeeeeeeelly need a break from seriousness and MH stuff. So....

I'm making a suggestion that we all go and see the new movie about Freddy Mercury; 'Bohemian Rhapsody' and report back here with our critiques and experiences. 🙂

I'm not sure when it starts but am looking forward to it. I revamped this thread (many moons ago) after our fearless leader CBanks (forum manager) put up a post with an image of Freddy.

Being a social thread, I thought it'd be nice to share our thoughts on a social activity. Wha-d-ya-think?

If you come across peep's on the forum who might benefit from seeing this movie, please mention it.

Gotta go; have a nice Daylight Saving's Sunday!
