It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

I do remember the drug... it was sulphur based and that is what really messed with my mental well being. I cannot name it here but yeah... the main cause of my emotional upset was the increase of sulphur.

Early start for you today ... I am running around with kids sports and then will see my friend as we are doing some birthday prep for our other friend next week.. so that will be fun.

Another hot one in here in Melbourne today... feel sorry for the ppl playing tennis 🎾

Hi Sarah , hopefully your day worked well and it was not to hot . Hard life being a tennis player or any sport I suspect . I was reminded of Jackson Browns song " play a little bit longer " . Saw them in Bris eons ago and that was last song , JB came out on the empty stage and started playing then one by one the band returned . Absolutely stunning standing ovation went on for nearly 30 minutes . Tennis players do all the stuff they do for so little time out there !

I am interested to hear about the sulpher drug and must read up if I can on that .

Just got a call and have to leave this as a friend is coming to stay the night . ( not a regular event here )

Anyway, are those who identify as asexual (or some variant thereof) welcome here too? It'd be nice to speak wholeheartedly, without needing to hide any aspect of my identity from any potential prejudgement. 🥺

I mean... even cake-devouring photosynthetic organisms need some communication beyond Beethoven's 5th on a 168-hour loop between the second and third Tuesdays of every month over the course of a single year, right? 🌱

Sarah , apologies for rushing off on last post . 0400 again , watching gourmet farmer . My friend will be in soon ( early start to complete this job in Brisbane this afternoon ,evening ) and I will coffee and feed him for the day . It is,a rare occurrence out here( visitors ) but every now and then old friends from all over pass and have an evening off or a short coffee stop . Reminis about the old days .

Am emotionally exhausted right now , the journey has been doing bursts at light speed since beginning of December. Love to you and yours , hugs to ( enjoy birthday preps ) Jo&LD xx

So I'm about to start uni life for the first time (officially next week, unofficially late this week), and I was wondering if anyone has any tips and/or advice for a first-time tertiary student who hasn't studied in over a decade-and-a-half. 🙃

Hi NA32 ( please excuse the abrieviation ) . I have not had the pleasure or good fortune to attend a university so really am little help . There is also the Beyond Blue Cafe ( I think a search might find it , can't remember how I found it but there seems to be a few more participants than here ) . I was hoping to liven this one up and will keep on doing that ,. It might be worth a try though . Also your very welcome to chat here to .

@Jo8049 In that case, I'd definitely like to post here, if it helps keep this café thriving. 🙂

Regarding the abbreviation, that's perfectly fine. You could go with NA32, or Alarc, or Triduem, or San-Ni/Sunny, or some other play or pun on "NobleAlarc32"... whatever works for you.

As for the meaning and origin, it's derived from the name and title of my novel series' protagonist, Alarc del Nataltis. I chose it over the character's "normal" cover alias of Jack Archer as my current online persona, as it's more "fantasy". Plus, it helps that he's an author avatar as well. ✍️

Oh, and Alarc translates as "this journey" from his peoples' native language, which has increased significance as the story develops. The surname "Archer" is thus a subtle allusion to his true name.

I apologise for the long-winded rant. Us artistic types can get quite passionate about our craft... and hang out in cafés, because stereotypes and archetypes FTW, heheh... 😅

Good morning all , safe happy loving and loved day to all . hugs !

NA32 , a good day for you . I am glad to chat . Long winded rants are fine . Please excuse me if some things are unclear or simply go over my head as I am what most would consider quite old . Am a very slow reader and have memory retention issues ( significant oxygen starvation as very young infant ) . Have a vivid imagination though . Be gentle if I don't get it sometimes , I may ask occasionally .

Really not sure how many people a day visit here . More will come if we can keep it going . I watch this one and the BB Cafe . Both stalled yesterday , maybe work and sleep requirements for folk ?

Coffee is on ( it is a cafe after all ) and perhaps mud cake or one of those delicious sugary Turkish treats ?

Slept in today , didn't get going on the recumbent trike ( on rollers ) in front of TV till 0530 ( usually 0400 or there about ) . Had big thunderstorm come through between 0100 and 0200 . Got up and had to disconnect antennae.

Well I shall wander off now , Enjoy the coffee !
