The Transcendent Rainbow Cafe - social space for LGBTI members

It would be so great to have a thread here where we can chat about almost anything. We can have fun, tell jokes, share stories, you name it!

There's a "BB Cafe" thread in the general area where lots of people chat daily and have established some nice light hearted conversations, it's treated as if it's a real cafe, there's even virtual baked goods and coffee!

Let's create a chat here for anyone to join, in particular the GLBTIQ community to let their collective hair down and chill out. It's a safe space to be yourself.

We just need a name 🙂

Evening Sez and all and also welcome Bella!

i havent heard of that movie however i not long went with siblings to see smallfoot, thats a rather light hearted movie, and was good to get out of the house for abit.

Hows everyones weekend looking?

My week's going well SN, thankyou for asking lovely.

Smallfoot would be a great kids flick I think. Wanna give us a rundown on it?l

My movie should be good, especially if you like 'Queen' the band. Bohemian Rhapsody was one of their top hits during the 70's (of all time in the charts) and made them a household name for their powerful, outrageous and very different singing and stage presence.

There's a special presentation screening here on my birthday. Yay!

Freddy Mercury was one of several celebs to be reported as dying from Aids around that time. His sexual orientation and exploits were common topics of interest for the media; I'm interested to see how this is depicted in the movie. Especially how he coped. (or didn't)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to it...I'll report back afterwards. 🙂

Evening Sez,

im glad your weeks going well and read your out with family tonight. i hope it goes alright for you!

Yep, Smallfoot is more for kids but i dont mind, it gets me out of the house and the kids quiet for abit.

its about a yeti finding a human (a small foot to them) and no one believe the one that found the human so they go searching, basically turns the human and yeti race combine and become friends eventually. doesnt sound all that exciting but it was ok.

I just seen a trailor come on the tv for Bohemian Rhapsody and it looks alright. yes please do report back!

ooh what is the date of your birthday? Mines coming up too

Not far away then, are you going to do anything special?

Im volunterring/ fundraising most of the day on mine this yr.

Yes...in the evening, going to the movies to see Bohemian Rhapsody. I'll probably have lunch with my mum and maybe my sis. No biggie really. At this age birthdays aren't all that...

I think your co-volunteers should throw you a surprise party after the event! You deserve it! Maybe wear a t-shirt that says; 'It's my b'day today; blow me a kiss!' ha ha

It'd keep the smiles coming and make the day go quicker. 😄

Hugs xo

Evening Sez xox

that was a very slow moment on my behalf now wasnt it! sorry, yes i do remember you saying that and the rest of your day sounds lovely too.

Im not a huge fan of parties, i would much rather just go out for dinner or something quiet. My 'old age is showing here 😉

im dreading going to the volunteer event, they are mostly strangers which i find rather stressful as well as handling money and customers but hopefully the 4hrs go quickly.

haha your a classic y'know, i can see you wearing that shirt!

Hows your day/s been?

Hey Butterfly Wings, Rainbow Cafe' friends and visitors!

I finally went to the pictures to see Bohemian Rhapsody and wasn't disappointed. It was a stupendous experience! This movie would be best viewed on the big screen. DVD won't do it justice I'm afraid. The music was larger than life due to an amazing audio production and; Rami Malek who played Freddy. I actually thought he was singing. Still don't know the answer to that one, but who cares? It was brilliant!

The story gave me the answers to my questions re media and Freddy Mercury's sexuality; he was hounded - poor man. What a wonderful performance by Rami. I'm going to see it again before it finishes just to see him perform. So real!

The band members' characters were so close in looks to the guys from Queen, its authenticity was ten fold. I thoroughly enjoyed their performances and the way their story was portrayed.

A quality production and directed sensitively. Big applause for the movie makers.

All in all, it was the perfeck ending to my birthday. 🙂

I may not be around too much from now as my offline life has become a busy focus. Big waves and hugs to all...miss ya's!

Hello Mark,

So glad you're here.

I just thought I'd drop a line saying Hi, and catch up with you soon.

It's not been too active in here lately, but cool that you've posted.

I turned 42 recently which i kind of can't believe when i say it! Are you like that? Ever since the big four oh .... it feels like the twilight zone.

Wanted to welcome you, and talk to you soon.

You're very welcome here.
