The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.
The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.
Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...
So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...
Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open
At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay
At the BB cafe

We can test some snacks & see what floats? Or we could put snacks in jars ... do some bobbing for snacks. in the pool!
What fun. [LRC grins]. I am going to tie my kite to my tail, so I can still swim. I won't be very good at steering, but I'm not going to worry about that.

Oooh, I like that idea very much! Maybe we'll get a special cat floating device especially for LRC. We'll all help to steer you around the pool.
Does anybody here drink coffee? I've been learning how to make it at work, and I'd like to test out my skills here. Latte? Cappucino? Flat white?

Hi everyone…..🤗,
I had a bit of a giggle mmMeKitty, a kite on your tail, hanging upside down😂..it reminded me of an old Tom and Jerry cartoon, where Jerry tied Toms tail onto a kite with a motor on it….🤣🤣..
Pool snacks, I think along with an icy cold milkshake a refreshing fruit salad with lots of watermelon would be so nice…
Grandy…..🌹

Hi SB, in my real life, I quit coffee, mostly because it costs so mch, & also because I don't know of any nutritional benefit. But here, I could easily have a pool filled with iced coffee, with the cream & ice cream, & some chocolate slivers ... & hold the straw!
LRC says "Yay! Now there's snacks in mmMekitty's coffee pool, & with everyone steering me from snack to snack, what more can I ask?" [LRC purrs loudly]
I'm looking, but I can't turn down the volume nor intensity of LRC's purring... plese don't mistake it for an earth tremoring, as least not after the first couple minutes.
As a very young child, I"d watched Tom & Jerry, but I can't remember what happened in it. I wish I'd remembered the kite with a motor - I'd have told LRC about that! It sounds so funny, just to think of.
Hugzies SB, Grandy & everyone

I have an idea for snacks around the pool..close to the edge so you don't have to get out to reach them presumably..how about fresh prawns? We produce the best ones in Australia over here in Qld....the waiter would have to peel them for us of course and have the perfect dipping sauce and garnishes? And then fresh from the kitchen, he'd bring out some piping out crumbed scallops with wedges of lemon and just watch them disappear??? Thats my suggestion for today.

Hello everyone…🤗,
Moonstruck, Fresh prawns so yummy, something I love but haven’t had for years…they are a food along with fish that isn’t sold fresh out in the central west…frozen ones are just not the same🥹….I’ll pass on the scallops though, but will add Calamari Rings to the snack menus if that’s okay..
Sitting on a big floaty, eating my salty Calamari rings and Prawns with dip…while I’m enjoying an icy cold shandy…Now this is a good way to spend Friday afternoon…especially as it is with our beautiful and caring BB friends…🤗💕..
Hugs everyone 🤗🤗.

Grandy....and I will swim around your floaty, grabbing a Calamari Ring, perfectly cooked of course..not like I've had in most places....all rubbery and unchewable..no these will be perfect! You might come over our way one day...we can sit on the riverside and watch the boats come in, laden with fresh fresh seafood, including mounds of prawns. mouth watering yet Grandy?
Out Central West I see you are located....do you like it there? everywhere has its individual charm I guess, but there's nothing quite like the BB Cafe. Why can't other Cafes be like that I wonder? Everywhere I go, I see gossipy people, looking up to see whos walked in and whispering to each other....if you're alone, which I am... not by choice these days, but by my man dying.....going out to places is a lonely thing to do...very very lonely.
I have always felt welcome here in the BB Cafe...thank God. I wonder why the people are so nice...wish someone would explain that to me....take care Grandy. xx

Hi everyone,
Ah, Ha, ha, we can play ring toss - tossing calamari rings onto my raised tail. Any you manage to toss onto my tail are mine! (They won't be the soggy ones floating in the water).
Oh, alright, I will share. [LRC appears contrite]
Moon, you ask a serious question.
Social customs play a large part in this expectation that people don't go out to eat alone. It's far more common for people to go out alone than it once was. Whether by choice or circumstance, people are more commonly single, too.
I had to get over some social anxiety, & asked myself “why”? Why care about what other people may or may not think about me, my appearance, my table manners, my obvious disability, my age, gender or sexual orientation (which I don’t think had ever been terribly obvious anyway) - nothing. None of their business. & indeed, their thoughts are none of mine, in so far as I don’t need to know them. What’s it to me what they think?
I think we come here anonymously, with nothing visually for anyone to make presumptuous judgements about. This is one way this forum protects its members. We are encouraged to be welcoming & supportive of everyone who comes to BB, & to the readers who haven't, (yet), joined. People reading without wanting to comment are welcome too. We make a conscious effort to accept whoever walks in the proverbial door, (window, chimney, cracks in the floorboards ...) anyone.
Hugzies

Hi all,
Did anyone fall for an April Fools Day joke yesterday??
I did!! 🤔 Well only for less than a minute, but it really had me believing it for those few seconds... 🙄🙄 It was story from one of the regional papers here in Vic... I read the headline online, not being a subscriber I then very excitedly got the ABC news page up thinking this is a big story... it was only when I saw the date on the ABC site I realised I had fallen for an April Fools joke... I think in the back of my mind I thought it odd that it hadn't been making headlines earlier
