The BB cafe is open for business!
Welcome all to a new chill and chat place for everyone on the forum.

The BB cafe is whatever you want it to be. There are comfy sofas, tables and chairs, coffee machines, a kitchen stocked with everything. There's a pool outside, a bbq area, an annexe with comfy beds for a quiet sleep, tv, dvd, books and whatever else you would like to have here.

Most of all, it's a place to meet friends and fellow travellers for a bit of company. Talk over problems, tell jokes, share your day, escape into a world of your making. Grab a coffee and pull up a chair ...

So, with a nod to the wonderful Carole King (Hard Rock Cafe) ...

Now if you're feeling just a little bit lonely
Don't sit at home just mopin'
Come on down to where the friendship flows freely
You know the door is always open

At the BB cafe
Come to the BB cafe
They will help keep your blues at bay

Hey Grandy & everyone. Merry Christmas to everyone who have found their way to BB, to the BB Cafe, those who post & those who read, may you all find peace & joy this Christmas Day. May you hold these feelings in your heart as we go on into the New Year.

May we make the most of what we have, no matter how little we think we have, it's enough to be grateful for, & to do something special with.

Big purring hugzies for everyone.

My warmest thoughts to you, all assorted pets & furbabies, as well, for the joy & comfort you bring to the lives of so many members of BB, whether you live with an individual member or visit with all of us other members here in our BB world. Thank you all for your kindness & caring throughout the year.

I've got one more Festive Penguin for you all: it's very big, with multie level resting places, climbing ladders, swings, water bowl & food bowl holders, & your very own Pet-popcorn dispenser. & the penguin will toss balls, frisbees, bones, treats - whatever you like, from its beak, all day long, if you like. & there's a perfect lookout on top of its head, to keep an eye on us humans.

I've made some jelly with fruit in. I had some yummy, tinned cherries in a sweet juice, & (as it turns out, some blackberries too), & also some strawberries I forgot to put back in the freezer this morning, so I made jelly with the lot! & maybe, put more gelatin in than was strictly necessary.  PLease enjoy - there is really more than a single LRC ought to eat at any time for any reason!

Merry Christmas to everyone. Thank you to the Beyond Blue community for the support. I have only been on for approximately 4 weeks, and in these 4 weeks, I have received a lot of support and advice. To the counsellors, thank you for listening and for all the support.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day, and feeling great. 💕

Hi Sej. Merry Christmas to you, too! Welcome to the BB Cafe.

I'm hoping you have had a great Christmas Da, with fun & happiness, good food & a relaxing afternoon. How would you like to share my fruity jelly with me? It's turned out really good, with some parts reminding me of cranberry sauce, which I dicided not to buy because of how much sugar is in it, so I am pleased part of my jelly has a jammy texture. I supposed it's the strawberries I mashed up, & the blackberries I only slightly smashed up into my mix that gives me the textures.

I'm glad you have found this site to be a supportive & helpful place, & that the counsellors have been helpful, too. Again, welcome.

Xmas Hugzies

Ha! Ha! [LRC ROTFLing] You all won't believe what I did!

When I was making my fruity jelly, I'd put all the fruit & juice in a bowl, & in another small bowl, I put some gelitin crystals, &boiled up some water to mix & desolve the gelatin, then poured it into the fruit & juice mix, then poured the mixture into two containers, trying to get a balance of fruit & juice pretty much the same between the two containers.I stirred them around a bit, so the fruit was fairly evenly spread out. Then both containers went into the fridge.

I realised I could have put the lot in the larger container. No matter, I ate the smaller lot last night! Today, wanted little more this afternoon, & I have discovered I left the stirring spoon in the big container, in the jelly!

What was I thinking? Did I just stir the large container & drop the spoon in & not notice myself doing that?

So funny, eh?

I think my brain was having  a Happy holiday!

Hello Everyone…..🤗.

I’m sorry mmMeKitty..I had a bit of a giggle when I read about you leaving the spoon in the jelly…😂😂…wasn’t long ago I poured my boiling water into my tea bag jar😂😂…looking back we can have a laugh about our silly little mishaps…

I remember a long time ago, we had visitors and I made them some coffee…added the milk and sugar for them as I always did…wasn’t long until I heard a lot of coughing and yucks going around….instead of sugar I put salt😂😂😂…I was very popular and felt horrible but as the years pass and I think about it, it makes me laugh….

Would love to hear if other beautiful members have done something silly and can look back on it and have a chuckle….

Hugs everyone and wishing you all a great night tonight..🤗🤗.

No worries, Grandy. I had a very good laugh about it. It's one thing to constantly be leving the spoon I'm using to stir up whatever cooking I'm doing, but quite another to leave it in the jelly! I have left it in the pot, where it gets too hot. Maybe one day, I'll take it into the bathroom with me & leave it in the washing basket - could that be next?

I agree, we all do this sort of thing - I've even seen such things in the movies &/or TV, I'm sure. If anyone can come up with some examples of this sort of thing in a particular movie or TV show, that would be great, 'cause I can't think of a specific scene just right now.

Hello everyone. How are you all?

I'm wondering about if you go out to celebrate the the New Year, or if you prefer to stay away from the big crowds. Maybe you stay at home. Maybe, you will be taking in what's on offer on tele, or not? Maybe, like me, you just hope nobody starts making loud noises & shouting out at around midnight?

I hope my neighbours behave themselves, treating each other with some respect, you know?

I may, if I'm still up, have some sparkling grape juice, raise a quiet toast to humanity in general, that we will find ways towards us all being more respectful & kind to each other, in 2023.

I hope, wherever you are, whatever the weather is where you are, you are able to greet the New Year with hope & optimism

I hope I can too.

So, Im making another quiche (with vegies), & bringing the sparkling grape juice, some honey roasted macadamias, some fresh olives, & thickly sliced ham to share.

& lots of hugzies for all of you,

Hello Everyone…….🤗..

MmMeKitty, I’ll be spending tonight at home with my 3 precious fur girls, listening to some Cream, Creedance, Dire Straights and maybe later I’ll put Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young’s Woodstock Video on to watch….so many amazing performers…Janis Joplin,  Jimmi Hendrix, Melanie, The Who, and many more….while having some fruit salad drizzled with vanilla custard😁..

I’m thinking of spraying myself with bug spray and sitting out on my veranda tonight….with my blue tooth speaker and my small portable DVD player….if I’m lucky I might see a shooting star….now wouldn’t that be so beautiful to end and then start the next year with…

Happy New Year everyone,

Wishing and hoping that this New Year, will bring you all…peace, happiness, health and a light, a light that shines brightly in your soul, to guide you on your journey towards a positive destination and life…

Love and hugs everyone..

Good one, Grandy, that sounds wonderful! My only bitter-sweet sorrow is that Joni Mitchell didn't make it to Woodstock, but if she had we wouldn't have her wonderful song 'Woodstock', would we? I don't remember Melani being there - what song/s did she perform? Maybe I can find on YouTube....

I'm happier being here, while it's quiet... still hoping neighbours will continue to be quiet tonight.

I went & bought another tin of cherries in juice, turned them into jelly, which turned out very much better than with the other berry fruits. So yummy - but you know, some of that custard would be great with my jelly!

Hope you see a shooting star.

Happy & Healthy New Year, Grandy & furbabies.

Hugzies to you & furs

Hi Grandy & all,

I found some Melanie at Woodstock, not actual video, just the audio, & some was quite poor. Brings back some memories of the time I was listening & singing her songs. It was through some difficult years, which her songs got me through - & then I went on to discover other singer/songwriters, who also helped me throughout my life.

One song I heard today, I didn't recall, was 'Tuning My Guitar', stood out as a brilliantly written & performed song. It's a song about not wanting to become 'a star', refusing to be pushed or moulded into one. She insists she only wants to sing songs about her life, & to do so in her own way. & it seems to me, she got pretty cranky about it.

& later, I was listening to some music by Philip Glass, which, if not for the ads, I could have found very relaxing & meditative. One day, I will give in & subscribe to YouTube & pay to not see ads. I resent having to pay to not see ads, but eventually I won't find the little button to press so I can click, 'stop seeing this ad' & get on with what I want to hear, so I will then have to subscribe. Otherwise, YouTube & Google will get the idea I like ads. Mind, I don't think they are getting the hint yet, even after all the ads I have clicked 'stop....', so I don't know.... I just want the music & books, without interruptions.

& my neighbours decided to get noisy today... I was hopping they would last at least one day into 2023.

How has everyone else enjoyed this first day of 2023?
