Croix, (who got in while I was typing), your ears are not nearly so keen as to pick up the myriad of murmurings emanating from sloshy kiwis in repose.
That being said, I do applaud your idea to record their snore & modify their pitches & I will also lengthen the sound so I can selectively create a most magnificent musical score.
Thank you - you will have an extra mention in the credits.

A Kiwi Koncherto sounds fabulous Croix! That may overcome ethical concerns MK, though it is true the kiwis would probably not even be aware of a mini hydrophone being used to capture internal sounds. It will be a kind of snore symphony.
Speaking of snoring, I must go off to snoozy land now. But most excited about the experimental composition on which we are embarking.
Hugs,
ER

Dear MK, ER and All~
I'm afraid that unless it is a public place any recording must have the permission of all parties concerned and even then htere are exceptions.
Add to that the inebriated kiwis have to obtain thier beverages whilst inducing a snoring state and I think it would only be fair to give them some token. Then again as my iceberg is going to be a recording platform maybe a few clams would not go amiss 🙂
Welcome to the world of being a music producer:)
Did you have any particular tunes in mind?

Dear ER, MK (and Moon if you are reading)~
You have all been very quiet, the inebriated kiwis have been practicing snoring in harmony, the penguin slide is nice and slippery and I've a set of industrial ear plugs.
What more could you want?

hi Croix, ER & all,
Yeah, I have been around, but not as much. I like to have time to think about certain posts, including those I write here, but when I am ready, it's already very late & I am too tired, nearly snoring where I sit while putting my eye drops in, taking meds, before going to bed.
there are times I say, oh, just one more 5-letter word game, (which is my favourite) & then need 15-30 minutes to think of a sentence or phrase ... & now I need some time to think of some tunes, besides (or including) I'm forever blowing bubbles. or, if I am correct, something called Ice, Ice, Baby, or Walking on Thin Ice.
Personally, I'd like a Concerto for Clam Canastas, written by Westlake, Glass or Kats-Chernin, or all three!

P.S. re: the industrial earplugs, Croix, do you have industrial ears to match?

Dear MK MD and All-
I have very delicate sensitive ears which is why I need industrial strength earplugs to keep you lot at bay.
As for music, I think the inebriated kiwis might enjoy 'Whiskey on Ice' by Hank Williams Jr
If you are nearly snoring why not go one step further, then you could join in the snoring harmony?

Have any of your cats snored? I'm not convinced cats can snore. I"ve never heard myself snore...well, maybe a snort or two. Otherewise, I'd be perpetually sleeping.
The ABC had a couple good programmes on tonight, about music/musicians. Just hearing about what people do & how they do it can be a most uplifting experience.
Oh, look, it's already tomorrow your time!
Goodnight & pleasant dreams to you all.

Dear MK
Yes, Sumo Cat does indeed snore. True it is only if you listen carefully, but when I think about it he has plenty of time to practice.
Talking of people making music reminds me of Garry Greenwood. He was a master leather worker and made many working musical instruments, from a violin to an alpenhorn. They were not only playable but were beautiful works of art in themselves.
A most unusual path to take, from leather worker to artist and musician. I'm glad there are people like that in the world.
Croix (who wonders how MK could hear herself snoring )

Upon waking, before opening my eyes, to the mighty sound not dissimilar to a foghorn, with nary a ship for kilometres, & no fog that morning, & nobody else in my flat ... what else might I conclude?
*
Yes, it is wonderful how. in the hamds of a skilled craftsperson wood, steel, hanimal hide, string, beads, stone, -- so many seemingly ordinary & natural things can be worked, shaped & put together & often utilising the properties of air, then, when played, produce such beautiful sounds to express every emotion & plenty of thoughts & ideas as well.
*
Maybe the sound you hear from Sumo Cat is him secretly purring with actual genuine gratitude for everything you have done for him. You know, he's Sumo Cat, so he can't openly let you know how much he appreciates you.... so just quietly, he pretends to be unconscious & just making a sound that purposely is suspiciously like a snore, creating a situation of plausible deniability.
Hugzies to everyone,

ER, I was please you liked the misty morning account and will look out for your reply

Croix
