Dear MK and all~
Well I guess Monsterpiece Theater will just have to switch to 'Beach Party', probably starring Gidget. We are nothing if not flexible
BTW what on earth is a "cerise scrunchie"?

Oh, dearie, I gave you my cerise scrunchie! I intended to give you my chartreuse scrunchie ... these being two very different colours. Cerise is a gentle rose red, from the French for cherry, while chartreuse is an equal mix of yellow & green, & named after a French herbal liqueur, that, like you, gets better with age.
& a scrunchie is a fabric-coverd loop of elastic usually used for tying hair into a ponytail. I tend to use them lots of small ones, of many different colours, to keep my tail warm in winter.
Oh, not Gidget, please! I was rather hoping for Vikings or pirates ftorming the bigarse sandcastle on an offshore, of Wales, desert somewhere in the North Sea. or wherever the seas are high ... (forgive my sense of geography & national boundaries is very sketchy at best, maybe because I don't have a compass in my head).

mmMeKitty....or however you spell it. Forget the scrunchie for Croix...believe me on this....he belongs in a silk smoking jacket whether he smokes the cigar or not...smoke must be curling upwards from his chair by the fireplace. P.S. my ancestors were Vikings and the men in my family are all tall, and unbelievably handsome!
Nothing wrong with Gidget...dear Sally Field is 76 now...what a star!

Dear Geographically Disadvantaged MK (wiht a wave to all)~
I don't have a ponytail and while a smoking jacket in burgundy is acceptable I'm not sure a scrunchie would wold be appropriate. Much better for me to get another starched shirt and cuffs and leave you yur tail-warmer..
My only experiencing with Vikings is Eric The Viking, whom I suspect is not typical. The shores around Wales tend to by shingle which makes constructing sandcastles more difficult than usual but I guess with perseverance a modest one could be done before the sea becomes high, as in high tide.
I'd not realized how long a career Sally Field has from Gidget to Forrest Gump spanning 50 years and I suspect still going.

Hi Croix, somehow I skipped right on by your post. My apologies.
The scrunchies which fit around your flipper, for hiding the tears from my claws, are larger by quite bit than the small scrunchis scrunchies which fit around my tail, which is only as wide as an average man's thumb.
I'm not criticizing Sally Feild. It's the fictional character of Gidget I can vaguely remember going all gooey-eyed at some fellow on a surfboard. Something like that. There were two or three movies, I think, but you can guess, they didn't appeal to me, not when I was so young,, not when I was a lttle older, & most definitely not now either.
... Maybe if I mix in some quick-dry cement into the wet sand? Hmmm, better get the measurements right. ... Was it equal thirds water, sand & cement mix? Then get a HUGE sunlamp over it ...
Oh, & what is, "to by shingle"?

Dear MK~
I hpe you did not mean 'oarfish', which at up to 26 meters might make a meal you might not be able to do justice to.
"to by shingle" is an example out of my collection of typos, it should be "to be shingle" of course, and has nothing to so with signs put out by professionals.
Perhaps a super size scrunchie might hold oyur sand castle together?
I can't say I was particularly keen on the Gidget movies or the Flying Nun. It was only later in Ms Field's career when she took on more serious roles I really took any notice of her.

Dear Britishvfan~
It's really good to hear from you again, I do check your old thread occasionally but you have been silent for a while now. I hope life has been kind to you.
Have you finished Heat-beat yet? With you birthday coming up are you getting a set of old TV show DVDs? I"m watching a US show, Adam 12 ATM, it has traveled down the years surprisingly well.

Hello britishtvfan
Happy Birthday! I hope you are planning to celebrate.
I would be interested to hear how things have been for you lately.

'shores around Wales tend to be shingle' still isn't making sense to me.... the shores surely aren't roofing material????
& oarfish - you betcha! Battered & crumbed, with some herbs & garlic - yum! mmMekitty, LRC & mmMekitten will tackle that, no worries. Well, Sumo & any other cats around are welcome to try to share, if they dare ...
Hmmm, wonder where I can get several bolts of fabric which hat been infused with bioluminescent bacteria? Wouldn't that make a pretty scrunchie which people could see from far away, at night, maybe even glowing through a thick fog. Best dressed castle anywhere on Earth!
