Rain is a tad heavier.....

Same back to you too, Croix. I've seen some of your very kind & toughtful responses to people too. There are times when I'm not at all sure how to respond to what I'm reading, & then I see how you have, & I'm so grateful you did. Thank you for being a part of BB.

As a show of how well-behaved I can be, as a gift to you, I won't remove the cork from the camphor laurel trojan Penguin, until Boxing Day.

Happy Christmas morning dear MK, Croix, Mrs C and All! 🎄🌟

Thank you for your lovely kindness, humour and support over time at BB. It has been hugely beneficial for me. I hope you are having a most lovely day!

Wow, that Trojan penguin is impressive!

Take care and big hugs from Eagle Ray 🤗

Thank you, ER. The Camphor laurel smells so nice, especially if compared to what's inside.

I wish you a peaceful, naturally wonderful day - hopefully not too hot, nor with storms .. just gentle weather, with some scattered clouds to look up to & discover animals hiding in their shifting forms.

Merry Xmas with my thanks to you for your wonderful descriptins of nature & the animals you encounter. With detailed descriptions I don't need to see photos (but would still love to).

Thank you so kindly MK 🙏😊

I imagine the inside of the Trojan penguin  may have a pungent fishy smell.

The weather here is truly lovely. It’s sunny and just gently warm with a gentle breeze. I have parrots feeding contentedly on my back lawn at the moment. Both baby magpies and baby galahs are making quite a noise in nearby trees asking ma and pa for food. And a willie wagtail is singing away.

I have just been hearing my neighbour singing along with The Little Drummer Boy with great gusto and enthusiasm and a little out of tune. It is delightful 😂

Sending big hugs and happy wishes 🤗

Hi everyone, wishing you all a wonderful festive season and peaceful day. It is nice to hear how you are all doing today.

I have my own three birds chomping away at their fruit, seeds and vegetables, and my dog Alfie is having a good ol snooze.

I find it stressful talking to people around this time and still have a few social things I need to do today and tomorrow. Then back to work. But at least I get this brief peaceful period now to sit here with my dog and speak with you.

Take care!

James

Dear James,

Thank you and I’m glad you had the peaceful time with your dog and birds. I’ve just returned from my neighbour’s place who kindly invited me over. It was a really relaxing time just hanging out and chatting with her friends on their back verandah. It got pretty warm here as the day progressed. Like you I can find the social pressures over Christmas a bit stressful. But the people I was with were very laidback and easygoing. I’m now having a bit of a lie down. Wishing you a lovely evening and tomorrow too. I hope you can get some restful time between the social events.

Very best wishes,

Eagle Ray

Hello James, great to see you here today.

I'm glad you had some time to relax, & your dog did too & your birds were enjoying a healthy meal.

It sure can be difficult to know just what to say to people at times. If someone we know is going to be alone, do we mention it or not? If you know someone has difficulties with feeling obliged to do all the Xmas stuff, do you contribute to that by even asking what their plans are? These days, I tend to give people space to say what they want. Sometimes, it seems they are eager to fill the silence & jump right in, like my sis did, when she bluntly said she & her hubby don't do Xmas, & they are going interstate for a holiday. I had no chance to be curious & enquire. I did ask one of my neighbours about what, if anything, he'd be doing, because I am aware he likes to have a winge, & to recieve a prepared meal from an organisation, but since he'd been in hospital recently, I wondered if that had been arranged for him to receive. That at least had him saying something complimentary about the meal.

So, I volunteered a little about what I did today. I've seen a few things on tele, as well as hearing some music, & singing along with that, making my own lunch, which I enjoyed, & asked him if he'd found anything on tele that he could enjoy.

I don't find this sort of conversation easy, but I do try sometimes, especially as I think the fello is lonely for people to talk to.

We have had another storm here, late last night, & again this evening. We've had storms every day for four days, so far. A couple were fairly severe.

& now the storm has moved on, all I can hear is my neighbours laughing like something is really hilarious. Well, it's better than swearing & arguing.

& I"ve looked ahead & notice I can watch A Hard Day's Night tomorrow. If I'm up really early I could watch Labyrinth again.

All my best for you & yours for the coming year.

P.S. ER, the Trojan Penguin is filled with Inebriated Kiwi who haven't bathed for a while, so there may be a lot of fermentation going on in there..

Dear MK,

I wonder if the Trojan Penguin will become ‘unboxed’ tomorrow on Boxing Day, and large numbers of inebriated kiwis will come tumbling out?

I’m glad you had what sounds like a relaxing day, seeing some things on tele, listening to music and singing along, and making lunch. It was nice you had the chat with your neighbour. I’ve still never seen all of either A Hard Day’s Night or Labyrinth, just snippets of them. I’ve seen the video of one of the Labyrinth songs with David Bowie.

Will be interesting to see what happens on the iceberg tomorrow 🤔

Merry Christmas Night All and may you sleep peacefully 🎄😴

Dear ER~

If they are interesting yo can find both 'A Hard Days Night' and 'Labyrinth' on the free

SBS On Demand

Though the latter will only be there for another 5 days. I have enjoyed item both in the past

It does not realy make much of a difference how many inebriated kiwis arrive on my iceberg, they are nice little birds and just tend to snooze in corners or go to for fresh (alcoholic) supplies.

Now the Trojan statue is a different matter and can be used as a float when re-plugged to consign a shipment of pesky penguins elsewhere

A peaceful Christmas night to both you and MK

Thank you Croix,

I think if I don’t get to watch them in the next few days they will no doubt be repeated again before long. They both seem like classics of their respective eras.

Interesting thoughts re: repurposing the Trojan penguin. It could somehow be motorised and the penguins could do zoomies around the iceberg in it. I’m not sure if that aligns with MK’s plans? Any thoughts MK? And what to do with all these unwashed kiwis? As a stingray I’m having to stay underwater a fair bit to avoid the odour of copious inebriated kiwis. I had no idea you could fit so many into a Trojan penguin!

Happy Boxing Night! 🎁

Hugs,

ER
