Oh yippee! What fun! Just imagine the thunderous impact of a brontosaurus crashing onto the iceberg! Or splashing into the ocean and creating a mini tidal wave that the penguins can go surfing on. The penguins will find that the best fun ever!

We could compare the various impacts of a stegosaurus, a triceratops and a brontosaurus. I’m not sure about including a T-Rex who might be destructive even without being tipped.

The quolls and quokkas can start dinosaur herding now and put them aboard Grandy’s locomotive. Oh how wonderful, a dinosaur train!

MK, yes, hopefully the clams arrive soon. Otherwise there might be some crook penguins and kiwis rolling around on the iceberg from off-clams. Croix will need a peg for his nose. Though the dinosaurs will at least be a distraction.

Dear All,

I knew it! As soon as ER returns the scurrilous activities start again - worse than before. Frankly I feel sorry for the dinosaurs.

Hehehe! My stingray team are also swimming via an underground channel to Loch Ness where they are going to entice the Loch Ness Monster to join in the festivities, I think with a lure of marshmallows and clams (interesting culinary combo). Nessie is also partial to munching on penguins, so they better look out. She is an elegant water serpent/dragon who will perform a now you see me/now you don’t routine. She can create a magnificent mist squirting ocean spray from her nostrils into which she mysteriously disappears. The kiwis will stare in wonder, not knowing if it is their inebriation or they really saw a monster.

Nessy can do synchronised swimming with the brontosauruses. Or join a water polo team....

Pesky Penguins riding Pterodactyls are taking on the Wizards (all of them), in a 5-day Quidditch Match. Won't that be more exciting than any old cricket match?

.... [LRC is thinking, while playing with clams & mmMarshmallows, to determine the point at which a blending of the two is neither sticky or slimey - & it's proving to be a very fine distinction].

Dear All~

It's an eeeerie feeling rowing in a little boat on Loch Ness. The water - even in the sun - seems black and smooth and one nervously wonders what is directly underneath in the depths. Never saw a squeek or ripple if it I'm glad to say.

Mind you The Goodies version looked suspiciously like a set of car tyres.

I think clams and mmmarshmallows is an excellent idea and sticky is ok, that'll help to stop the inebriated kiwis falling off everything, in fact they could probably be stuck on the roods inside the igloo and wouldn't mind at all, after all their view of the world is pretty bleary anyway.

I can look upon pesky penguins being invited to luncheon with Nessy with vast equanimity.

MK, I can just see the penguins zooming about on the backs of pterodactyls in a game of quidditch. And yes, brontosauruses, for all their heftiness, are quite good swimmers, a bit like elephants.

Sticking the kiwis to the roof sounds quite a good way of organising them so they aren’t stumbling about the igloo. Just make sure they aren’t above your bed Croix in case the marshmallow/clam glue fails in the night!

That’s most interesting you’ve been out on Loch Ness, Croix. It would be hard not to feel slightly eery at the thought of what lies beneath the surface. It’s something about the legend of it that makes you imagine things. I’m sure I would.

Yes, those penguins will probably want to stay high up on the backs of pterodactyls, otherwise another carnival event might be Nessy snatching them for lunch. With her long neck she might be able to reach one if the pterodactyls fly too low. The stakes will be high for the penguins indeed!

This is shaping up to be a brilliant sporting festival  of prehistoric wizardry, a most interesting fusion.

Hi Croix, & everyone

Yes, of-course - I'd forgotten about the Goodies's Loch Ness episode. But I'm not sure the image that popped into my mind was from that or some other 'doctored' photo. In that image in my mind the water does seem inexplicably placid.

I wonder, were you perhaps hoping Nessy was inviting the Pesky Penguins (who don't wait for invitations anyway), to come to lunch to be the main course? If so, maybe some oyster mmMarshmallows will tempt her away from chomping on any Pesky Penguins, if she doesn't mind a little of LRC's hair included.... LRC's hair gets into everything - better than a written signature, being a pure DNA sample.

Turns out, if the oyster mmMarshmallows are too slimy, just leave them out to air for a bit, to allow some moisture to evaporate. Check them every 15 seconds until the desired stickiness is achieved.

If the day is very humid, you could risk leaving them in the sun, although this is not officially recommended, due to how many flies they will attract. Yes, even on your iceberg that is something to consider.

You could try hanging a curtain of fly paper around them, I suppose ...

Do you like the pretty mmMarshmallow colouring the translucent oysters have taken on? It's so delicate & sort of mystical. I was so intrigued, I set one on a stand & was gazing at it like it was a crystal ball, half expecting the milky pink to clear & give me a look into your future ... but I didn't want to spoil the surprise, even for myself, so I stopped.

If we keep the oyster mmMarshmallows sufficiantly sticky, we could use them for building materials. You'd have to simply use a humidifier to keep them from drying out & losing their adhesiveness.

Dear all~

"Just make sure they aren’t above your bed Croix in case the marshmallow/clam glue fails in the night!"

Actually all they will do is bounce like a squeaky toy, roll into a corner and resume snoozing

"were you perhaps hoping Nessy was inviting the Pesky Penguins (who don't wait for invitations anyway), to come to lunch to be the main course?"

Oh heavens no, certainly not, no way - the thought never even crossed my mind:) Mind you I can't speak for Nessy.

Dear MK and Croix,

Those oyster marshmallows sound positively mesmerising. I can just see the kiwis swaying in a kind of hypnotic stare at their crystal ball-like appearance. So they may serve as an adhesive for kiwis but also a kind of enchantment to keep them occupied.

I now feel like watching the Goodies Loch Ness Monster episode. It’s a bit late so maybe tomorrow. I can see it’s on YouTube. From the stills I can see Nessie actually looks quite cute and appealing. It’s hard to imagine her chomping on penguins now.

Pleasant dreams, MK, Croix and all. I think I shall dream about a friendly Loch Ness Monster.

Just seeing your post now Croix. Yes, I think you are correct about the kiwis. I once lived with a puppy (true story) who was snoozing on the couch snoring away. Yet he was a bit close to the edge, slid off and went plonk on the floor and just kept snoring 💤🐶
