Hey Everybody! Christmas is the time of year to enjoy & share with family & friends. Some people will spend this time alone & isolated too!
This is a safe place where people can post and say hello, chat or send wishes to others and have a 'Virtual Christmas/New Years'!
Whether you have plans for Christmas/New Years or having a quiet one you can kick back and just enjoy company of others. Its been a long year. Even if you have never posted on Beyond Blue before you are very welcome to come in and sit around our 'Virtual Christmas Tree' and chat 🙂

Hi all

My kids and I are spending xmas lunch at my brothers with all our family but my evening will be just my little one and i. I will probably check in here as i know I will feel down and lonely. I'm hoping not to remember last year's awful lunch (not with my family).

I haven't put the tree up yet, maybe today. Can't get into it much yet. Too many things going on, overwhelmed and overloaded and so tired.

Hi CMF and All,

Sorry to read you are doing it tough right now. Maybe you can get the tree up one day, the decorations the next day. Today I dragged some of the Christmas stuff in from the shed, it is a start.

We see my husband's family tonight so will discuss with them then what is happening for Christmas. I have already told my husband I want to help out at the Church Christmas Day, now he plans to invite his family to our place for lunch Christmas Day.

Either he isn't listening to my plans or he is happy to cook and prepare Christmas lunch for just him and his family and not me?

Hopefully you can think of something nice to do Christmas evening when you get home with the children. Do you have a favourite movie to watch when they go to bed? Or maybe friends to invite over who are in a similar boat?

Hope something comes along to make your Christmas plans even better!

Well this year no tree to put up ornaments to put out. Kids wont come to see there old dad as for the rest of my clan they have shown there intent over the last 30 years which has only got worse with the death of our mother then the death of our farther and my partner. This year like last year I wont go on the pretext I can do without the arguments and fighting plus putdowns I am over it let them fight between themselves.

theres many reasons i miss my nan DB and i try to remember the good ones (not always) - i was actually thinking somthing different this year rather than a candle but not too sure what yet

Sez- i remember being abit like that. kids hardly understand the concept of money though. i remember one yr i got a love heart ring with 4 different coloured stones. i still have it now and gosh that was yrs ago that was from my nan, its amazing. we think more is better but its often the xmas that we get something special we remember the most isnt it

CMF- thats ok we only go our tree up about 2 days ago, my pop loves xmas so i try to keep it alive for his sake. its hard wearing the mask- i get it but i hope your day is good nonetheless xox

When I was at home with the Children CMF I hated putting up the Christmas tree I also hated putting out the presents I loved the squeals of delight from the Children when they got there presents. JUst enjoy the happyness of the Children as I do.

CMF At least you have your children with you I am trapped in here. With no mask to put on . so I can bar humbug all I want and not lie to anyone that I appreciate being shoved in here. Then promptly forgotten all about, nice way to treat family. Along with the kids I will never abandon even though I don't see them either after all they are my children.

I can walk away from friends I can walk away from siblings, the children never.They are more important than anything.
