Hey Everybody! Christmas is the time of year to enjoy & share with family & friends. Some people will spend this time alone & isolated too!
This is a safe place where people can post and say hello, chat or send wishes to others and have a 'Virtual Christmas/New Years'!
Whether you have plans for Christmas/New Years or having a quiet one you can kick back and just enjoy company of others. Its been a long year. Even if you have never posted on Beyond Blue before you are very welcome to come in and sit around our 'Virtual Christmas Tree' and chat 🙂

Great idea - thanks to whoever suggested it and all the contributors so far.

Currently looking at spending my first Christmas alone in 29 years - all my birth family are gone, my son is overseas and husband and I are in the process of separating after years of family violence. My heart feels like it's breaking into a thousand pieces, so I'm struggling to find the cheer.

I normally love Christmas, so to help myself a bit I've volunteered to do gift wrapping at a local shopping center to raise funds for local community charity - and have joined a choir that is singing carols at 2 public events in the coming weeks.

A couple friends have invited me to be with them Christmas Day (which I will say 'yes' to) ... though am slightly dreading coming home at the end of the day ... (suggestions welcome about what I can plan to do when I get home - thanks 🙂

It sounds like life's challenging you well and truly; sorry for this. I'm so glad you have such good friends that are opening their home to you on Xmas Day. 🙂

You asked about suggestions for afterwards? How about making yourself a hot (or cold) chocolate with a dash of Kahlua in it, sit at your laptop and join the folk here on BB forum for a get-together? Maybe some silliness, a laugh or two and company that means something special to all.

The day itself might be quiet, but I'm sure there'll be people to share time with in the evening. Please feel free to start your own thread today, or scout the sections for subjects that resonate. You're more than welcome hun...

Evening everyone. This thread has moved very quickly hasnt it!

Ihavent had a chance to read all the posts as yet but wanted to pop in to say hello.

Im not too sure whats happening this year. Xmas is always hard because of the (trauma) memories i have close to it. But harder this year as ive moved into my own home so itll be challanging.

Ialways light a candle for my nan who passed away so that will always be the same. As for everything else i wouldnt have a clue!

Anyways thats me, and wishing everyone a merry christmas and hoping for a better 2018 (strange to be saying that! How quick has this yr gone!) For everyone xoxo

hello all glad you liked my post. I do mean what I said. I have and will be thinking of you all. I have never seen so many nice, compassionate, and caring people in all my 35 years. it is amazing!!! IMO you all deserve a medal and skippy badge! finding nice is like finding gold after over 157 years of gold mining it is becoming extremely rare. I have spent over 10 years in the serch for gold here in the gold fields and have only a few specs.

coming here, in 2 days I have stumbled apon the mother load. if the nice here was gold id need a fleet of trucks just to carry a portion. thank you all my faith has been some what restored in humanity. there are nice people out there after all. good show and keep it up...... hello

I've been telling so many people about here, it's so well run, great moderation, the Champs, everyone is awesome, its what the world should be like here. God forbid ...there'd be peace & happiness. Magic thanks everyone involved.

I'm at my brothers/sil (sis in law) Xmas, looking forward to it.
Had a couple of other options which is lovely but through loss of partner in '15 spending more time with my little wee family, other brother in NZ.
Going to beautiful ageing MIL (mother in law) for couple before there.

Sad through loss of beautiful people but shame that's one of the crueler parts of life.

I guess it's for us to live for them while they continue living in our hearts and memories.

Very sorry for peoples pain at this time of year.

Never alone here in this awesome place ((( if anyone wants hugs )))
