Hey Everybody! Christmas is the time of year to enjoy & share with family & friends. Some people will spend this time alone & isolated too!
This is a safe place where people can post and say hello, chat or send wishes to others and have a 'Virtual Christmas/New Years'!
Whether you have plans for Christmas/New Years or having a quiet one you can kick back and just enjoy company of others. Its been a long year. Even if you have never posted on Beyond Blue before you are very welcome to come in and sit around our 'Virtual Christmas Tree' and chat 🙂
You asked for this Paul here it is for all.
Santa (AKA Kanga Peter) Ho Ho! 🙂

Ah, Christmas the time where parties abound and we get stuck with people we can't stand. Luckily for me, it's only family so I'm fairly safe. Still, makes it hard when you want to do so much and you don't have the funds for it and feel you are letting people down.

Hello to every one.

I struggle with this time of year!

As well as other dates through the years gone by & still the years to come.

A constant rollercoaster road.

Though i am certainly not enjoying it.

I apologies for raining on your parade.

That black dog has me by the ankles once again.

Have been very close to that edge.

I often think of escaping permanently

Hi Kanga.

This is awsome

How lovely to read something inspiring

I hope your Christmas is Peaceful 😊

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat,

Please put a penny in the old man's hat.

If you haven't got a penny, a halfpenny will do,

If you haven't got a halfpenny, then God Bless You!

(Song by Harry Belafonte - an oldie but a goody)

It's heartbreaking to see so many struggling at Xmas. I wish I could make a difference in their/your lives other than write a few words, but it's all I have to offer.

For those who don't have somewhere to go on Xmas Day, your local community service centre might have a function (with kitchen) room available (hopefully free or at a minimum cost) for people who join forces and make a day of it together.

Maybe put a flyer up or ask people in similar situations to join you and share company, expenses, food and clean-up afterwards. Ask for donations from local stores for kids prezzies, beverages and decorations.

There's still charity in the world! Staying home in bed is a dreadful option, so maybe getting out there and trying to create something better could be a Xmas gift in itself. 🙂 You may just find giving in places that surprise you.

That's my penny in the hat for today..

Season's greetings from Sez xo

Just like most of your posts sez another inspired post.

Christmas is meant to bring the best in us all. So happy pastafarian day to us all

Hi,

I used to really enjoy Christmas, but now feel like packing up and heading to the beach for the day. If it wasn’t for the boys (14 & 18) I would.

Hi Leglessfrog,

I'm really sorry to read your post. I know it all depends on where you live as to what is available to you. Is it possible for you to call the local council and ask if they know of any place you can go to Christmas Day, or the local Churches, maybe ask The Salvation Army if there is one close to you.

I volunteer in an Op Shop, there are so many good quality toys that are sold in the shop very cheaply, you may be able to find some wonderful gifts for your children in an Op Shop.

Do you have any friends whom you can have a gathering with before Christmas? Even a picnic in the park would be lovely.

If you are feeling really overwhelmed, please use one of the telephone help lines like here at Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636, or Lifeline, or feel free to share more on this forum.

This year I have decided to keep my expectations around Christmas "real and achievable." What I truly desire Christmas to be will not happen due to circumstances. I can make my Christmas the best possible with what I have available to me.

Hope you manage to sort something out, and you find help and support if you need it as well.

Cheers from Dools
