So many uncertainties in my life at the moment

Hello there,

how are you all? Hope you’ve all had a lovely and productive day.

ok, so at the moment there are so many uncertainties in my life. If you’ve read my previous threads you would see that I recently left my toxic ex partner who distorted my views of myself. Working on self development and improvement.

university financial stress, hoping I will be able to get my diploma and then continue on with my studies for a degree in something, in the future.

And my mum has decided that she wants to finally settle the house and file for divorce from my dad during this time. My mother is a narcissist too and she left my dad for another guy on Christmas Eve two years ago. And due to covid-19 the divorce and settlement has been postponed.

So much stress right now. Graduating high school last year was extremely difficult due to the global pandemic.
feeling very stuck at the moment.

It’s a complicated and cold time right now. I’m feeling physically ill and really isolated.

working on it,

PF.

Psychedelic Fur,

You are dealing with lots of changes and uncertainties in your life.

It seems that one is often dealing with more than one insecurity.
in the last 15 months I have had to deal with many changes an I now accept I have to just accept the uncertainties and I know there will be more. I am much older but changes are very hard.

I think the more you grow the more uncertainties you face. It’s part of growing up, I think.

my daughter finished high school also also.

my brother took a year off after high school and worked - sort of a gap year before going to uni.

I did not get into Uni and started at TAFE.

I think what is important is that a person looks for something they are passionate about.

So my son is a swim coach and develops gym programs as well.

You will work out what is right for you. And with everything you do ... you are making the best decisions based on the information available at the time.

What are you looking to get your diploma in?

Oh wow!! Either one of the following : journalism, creative writing, radio broadcasting or screenwriter.

Very few people I have met have ended up in the careers they studied for or began working in. Life changes as you grow. Don’t sweat it too hard miss.

Hello PF, the house settlement may be able to go through, whether it's what you had anticipated or not, but it is sad when one parent decides to leave the family by circumstances we had hoped would not happen, I'm sorry it's happened.

Have you thought about an apprenticeship in either of these 'journalism, creative writing, radio broadcasting or screenwriter', it may then help you decide which is more preferable, rather than doing a course and having to pay the fees to eventually feeling as though this isn't for you, just a suggestion?

Just be careful, uncertainty can create decisions we're not aware of until we've made that choice, so if you are able to obtain an apprenticeship then you can decide which role suits you.

Best wishes.

Geoff.
