Not sure where to start but here goes.  Retired 6 years ago, I'm married to a wonderful man who gets me and understands when I'm feeling unwell.  I'm extremely lonely,  my energy levels are low and spend most days at home.  I'm currently seeing medical professionals for other unrelated medical issues to my Anxiety.  I often feel isolated,  lonely and vulnerable.   In 2019/2020  I was attending weekly appointments with a mental health professional due to a workplace incident which is why I Retired.   People say I'm a good person with a kind nature, caring, thoughtful and supportive.

Hi, welcome

Anxiety is a serious illness and can often lead to depression and other debilitating illnesses. Community Champions here like myself rely on our lived experiences to offer advise so we are not professional medical staff. I would suggest a visit to your GP is a good start for a check up and tell him/her what you told us.

Depression or low energy can come and go like waves. If you fight the swell you wont make progress, better to wait until it begins to move away then act on your motivation techniques.

Retirement in the mix will be tough to battle. Do you have a passion? Hobby? My wife 5 years ago when we moved to this country town took 3 years to settle and reluctantly went to a music group where she now enjoys many friends from it. Could it be time to socialise more?

We are here for your posts.

Thanks for responding.   I use to play golf which I loved and I was good at it.  I suffered a knee injury and have a displaced knee cap.  This inhibits movement and can be painful.  If I need to chat to someone I will get in touch.
