Firstly, I’d like to welcome you to Beyond
Blue and to say I’m sorry that it’s been a while since there’s been a response
to your post … with the weekend just happening, it’s unfortunate that it’s
slipped.
I do hope you’re still around … and as it’s
been a few days, how are you feeling now?
Still the same, or do you feel the symptoms have lessened somewhat? My immediate suggestion would have been to
get back to your GP and to let them know the exact way you’re feeling … get a
bit of a review? It could very well be
that these early symptoms could subside after a week and then you may be
ok? OR if that’s not going to be the
case, they should hopefully be able to prescribe you with another variety – as there
are so many types available and not all of them reveal the same symptoms.
And just with your beautiful kids, is there
someone else who you could call upon to help out at different times?
Would love to hear from you again.
Neil

Hi there,
I too take prescription meds for my anxiety and I also have a 2 year old.
i have been on the meds for almost a month and I can say with complete faith that the symptoms you are feeling do subside within the first 2 weeks. These are normal side affects for everyone.
its extremely hard with kids and I understand how scared you are but trust that you are helping yourself and there for will be helping your kids in the long run.
your body will just slowly adjust and you will one day not feel so tired and start to feel great!
Whatever you do dont suddenly stop taking them as it can cause withdrawals and with that awful headaches.
just persevere and stay in positive in the fact they u are 1 step closer to having a handle on your life.

Thanks Neil for the welcoming. I feel much better, but not yet 'normal'. Its been a week and i can sense a positive vibe. My kids have been wonderful, bless them.
I will be sticking around, this forum is great.
Thanks again. Have a good day ☺

I love hearing responses like this where you wrote; “… and I can sense a positive vibe.”
That’s also so wonderful to hear that your kids have been great.
Like so many on here, I have my own issues and troubles and like you, my kids (though being well into their teens now) are absolutely brilliant with me. They’re almost like a good dog … they can sense when you’re down and will try to help to lift you up. Though they’ve well and truly grown out of the stage of taking them for walks!
Kind regards
Neil
