Hi Jimbo
Good topic. Morning anxiety can be a pain for sure.
If you wish to elaborate you are more than welcome so we can help more effectively..Ive had anxiety...low and high levels for years until my GP helped me over the long and rocky road to having some peace.
The quality of our sleep is crucial to reducing any anxiety the next day.
If you arent sleeping as well as you should be....try..
- not using a mobile, ipad or laptop before bed...at least an hour before sleep...They do overstimulate brain activity thus opening the door to any anxiety the next day
- if you have issues on the day that you have morning anxiety that are on your mind prior to sleep try to resolve them so you can go to sleep with 'nothing bugging you' about the next day
- Our environment (home life) can also trigger morning anxiety too. If there is anything happening in our lives or at home can cause morning anxiety as well
Thankyou for a part of the forums Jimbo. There are many gentle people here than can help provide you with the support you need
I hope you can get back to us when you can
my kind thoughts for you
Paul

HI Jimbo
welcome to the forums
wow ok finally someone else who as this!
i struggle with this all the time and nothing sets it off. mine gets so bad of a morning to people who dont know or understand i look like i have a stomach bug!
what i find helps is to try to get into a morning routine- as you said it subsides after a while.
so during the worst times have a routine.
so make it a mission that way your not thinking about your anxiety your thinking about the task at hand.
e.g wake up, have a shower, get dressed have breakfast etc
hope this helps and good luck

Hi Jimbo86,
Great responses by blondguy (Paul) and startingnew above. Just to echo them... I have had morning anxiety a lot over my last few years battling anxiety and the feeling sucks and it does subside as you said. I have found I have it worse when I have a dream relating to a fear or worry and I try my best to calm myself down. I like startnew's idea about having a routine... if you have routine you mind generally will be focused on that when you wake up and knowing what has to be done, maybe even getting up earlier and going for a walk to try and get into some fresh air and nature and sort of relax your mind a bit. I know it can be tough when you wake with the anxiety but the exercise and having that routine may assist you.
My best for you,
Jay

Hey Cake boss,
I went through financial difficulty for 2 years straight with my ex as he had a gambling problem and lied about it. I believe this is where my anxiety and depression stemmed from. You are not alone. I agree with the last few posts... I really do hope you have a routine in the morning as I find that helps. I am new to this group and it's amazing to see how many people are going through the same thing and I thought it was honestly the stress of being an adult. im here if you ever need to talk. Health problems, money problems etc... together... are not a great combination. That's when I was at my lowest. Big hugs

Hi cakeboss
I find if you can go to bed with low anxiety and then when you wake up do some deep breathing and gentle stretching like yoga can help start your dsy off with less anxiety as weell

i try and stick to a routine and remeber to breathe.
you can use deep breathing or midnfullness durng your morning while still doing things as well. your able to incorpate them into it. so while doing the dishes practice your deep breathing or do some mindfullness.
