Hi Apricit@@123,
Im sorry you are going through this.
I also had horrible distressing intrusive thoughts they would send my anxiety into overdrive I was stuck in a vicious OCD cycle.
I was diagnosed with OCD by a psychiatrist, the good news is that I’ve recovered from this disorder after the help I had from health professionals?
Have you ever had a diagnosis?

Apricit@@123,
Thank you for your post, and I'm so sorry to hear about your intrusive thoughts. They can be quite debilitating, I know.
How long have you had these for, and have you noticed whether they're triggered by any situations in particular?
As Petal22 has suggested, it may be helpful to confide in either a GP, therapist, counsellor, or psychologist, if you feel comfortable. Whether or not a formal diagnosis is given, they may be able to offer some professional advice on managing your thoughts.
I hope this helps, please continue to chat with us if you wish, we're here to support you.

Hey Apricit@@123,
Do you deal with OCD? I have OCD and many annoying little things my "thoughts" tell me I have to do and it can make even doing a simple thing hard and frustrating.
I've stopped doing some things but there's still a lot I do and it's hard when my thoughts won't let me even take a day off.
I'm sorry you are experiencing this. Forgive me and you don't have to answer, but have you been dealing with this for a while? Or is this recent? My OCD has been there for as long as I can remember.
I'm here if you want to talk more.

Hi Apricit@@123,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand how scary OCD can feel to the one suffering it.
It consumes you and it’s unrelenting.
So many what if questions, so many things we feel we need to check so no harm comes to anyone we love, sometimes we feel we need to avoid certain things so that harm doesn’t come to us or anyone else…..
Its absolutely exhausting!
I was stuck in the vicious OCD cycle and while I was stuck in it I was absolutely terrified…… I felt as though I was actually living my worst nightmare.
This time of my life bought me to my knees…….. but………… my journey took me to a clinic that specialised in OCD at this clinic I learned to master my OCD and I’m now free I’m no longer trapped in this vicious cycle.
I understand where you are at…… please know that you can stop feeling like you have to do these things ….. you too can learn how to disengage from this type of thinking and doing…… really you can be free of it with the correct help if it is OCD…… it takes practice and perseverance but it’s worth it….
How would you feel about getting a diagnosis?
If it OCD you can then start working on your recovery but I believe OCD is a specialised area and we need to see the correct health professionals who understand OCD.
Please ask me anything

Hey everybody has different thought patterns, they basically come under the same anxiety pattern. I use to have very very intrusive weird thoughts, I’d convince my self that something would happen. Later I realised I basically had a broken upbringing and a whole lot of anxiety.
So your right. Our thoughts actually create our emotions. The mind controls the brain , and the brain gives the body the good chemicals or the bad one (cortisol) and so we have to change our thought patterns in order to change our feelings then behavior then beliefs. Please don’t think your unique or really or not normal.
it’s the story we tell ourself that creates the chronic worry. Here is some books for you to learn how to reverse anxiety and transform your life. Most powerful book ever written
its Called the power of now by eckhart tolle. Anxiety can be tricky, most the time we have been born into a negative world, and so we have been conditioned negatively, good news is we can totally change.
it’s a matter of changing our attitudes and the way we perceive our challenges in life, as well as how we react to certain things

Hi there,
I am sorry to hear you are experiencing intrusive thoughts. From my experience, they can be quite distressing. Have you seen your doctor about these thoughts? They might be able to help you navigate them.
For me, i use mindfulness as a way to bring myself back to the present and remind myself that they are just intrusive thoughts, they are not my reality. But it is important to seek professional help if you are experiencing OCD symptoms, as Petal22 suggested.
I hope things improve,
jaz xx
