Best wishes s to everyone. I m feeling really terrified at the moment . I did an induction at a new workplace yesterday and i found it so intimidating. I felt like crying and walking out. ive spoken before about not being happy and wanting to change jobs. IM just so scared about what ive done now . I just want to be happy again ive worked hard all my life im 56 but im starting to feel tired. I m tired from this constant battle of anxiety and depression. Im not sure about where im headed at the moment and im really scared. I was wondering has anyone felt so lost with things at times. Im really scared at the moment. My best wiahes to everyone. Brett

It is great to know you feel safe to be able to share your experience here and we hope that you find the support you're looking for.
Firstly, all credit to you for having the courage to attend the induction at your new workplace; it’s ok to feel uncertain when trying new things, it’s all part of trying to keep ourselves safe in challenging situations. Please know that you are deserving of this, you've worked hard to get to where you are right now and remember to take this one step at a time, be kind to yourself.
We are also here 24/7 on 1300 22 4636 or via our webchat. Our team who answer the phones are ready to have a supportive and non-judgmental chat whenever you need it.
We’re sure we’ll hear from some of our lovely community members here on your thread soon. As you know they’re a really amazing community, and will have understanding, advice and kind words for you. Thanks again for sharing. It’s a powerful and brave first step towards feeling better.
Kind Regards

Hi Brett,
Im sorry you are feeling this way.
Congratulations on your induction for your new job I think it’s fantastic you are doing this.
I understand you feel scared but do you know what when you feel scared it’s the BEST time to jump because it will bring you amazing growth.
Please Brett try to let go of fear……. fear is the one thing that tries to hold us back in life…..
Embrace the change Brett and take your time your new employer won’t expect you to know everything straight away.
Remember just to follow your breath it’s there to ground you use it as your anchor.

Everything just got too much and rang some friends in the early hours a friend a policeman took me to hospital. Ive had to put off my new job and the way im feeling im not sure when i will be up to it. Im so tired of my battles but ill keep battling away.

Hi Brett,
I’m sorry you are going through these things. I can relate to the feeling of overwhelm. Is there an option to take some time out for your own self-care? It sounds like you are exhausted and overloaded and need a break to ground yourself and have some space to settle and let go of any pressures you are feeling.
I just say this because I’ve put myself under so much pressure my whole life and I’m only slowly learning now not to do it. I would worry too about decisions and finding the right job etc, and still do, but realising I have to really take pressure off myself. It’s sometimes when you take the pressure off that things actually start to sort themselves and options and choices become clearer and are less anxiety inducing.
Take care and don’t feel guilty if you really need a break for some self-care and rest time. If you have an understanding employer maybe there is scope to delay your start time just so you can breathe and ground yourself, if that makes sense? It just feels like you were feeling too much pressure and exhausted by it, but see if you can let that pressure lift off you. Maybe even come up with your own visualisations for it. All the very best.

Thank you Petal.
I really appreciate that you regularly get back to me. Its been a tough couple of days and im pretty scared and unsure about what to do next. Im just so tired of the battle that we fight . Ive been hurt physically playing sport and and had my share of bumps and bruises.
I would swap that anytime for the pain of mental illness.
I hope you are well and had a happy weekend.
Brett.
