My big black dog sorry 3 words, but for me this visually helps to see it that way. Think of a chocolate lab that just rests by my side and every now and then I see it there and recognize it.

Attacking is a good word - the worry, stress and fear sort of washes over you and attacks you. I think my word would be controlling because the stress and worry take over and control your mind.
