Start of the year I was incredibly stressed had panic attacks daily digestion issues and felt extremely anxious. I lost 13kg in 3 months. I had a colonoscopy done and endoscopy both came back normal. More recently I started to get really back reflux that the back of my throat has been inflamed, I've had upper right back pain, hip pain, chest pain, shoulder pain. I dont mean pain that you usually get from anxiety I mean actual joint pain when I move them and use them. I'm only 25 years old. I still have digestion issues and I feel like my body is slowly wasting away. My doctor says all my symptoms are due to the anxiety I've had multiple blood tests for thyroid vitamins etc.. and chest x ray all came back normal. I'm still losing weight and have never felt so horrible. I'm taking medication for the reflux and the anxiety but I still feel like something is wrong here why I'm losing so much weight muscles so sore. I also have panic attacks and chest pain if I exercise or drink even the smallest amount of caffiene such as green tea. I have a healthy diet right now I dont drink alcohol and yet I still feel horrible. My doctor tells me it's all anxiety but I really dont know. I guess the anxiety could have thrown my entire immune system out of whack but seems weird all my muscles are getting weaker to the point i have joint pain.

Hi Samsonsam,
It is amazing what the body and mind can do. I'm certainly no expert so can only share what I have been told myself. Recently I have experienced similar to you.
I've been to Drs, specialists, a dietician and had multiple tests and now I am being told it is my depression and anxiety as well.
I'm trying to accept this and to work through the issues I have. I try to go walking daily despite the pain. I'm trying to use mindfulness and relaxation more and find things to be grateful for.
Apparently there is more research being done on the mind and gut connection. I have found a little bit of information on the internet. Some of it was confusing though.
Maybe ask you Dr if they can provide any understanding towards the mental health and digestive system connection.
Hope you are able to reduce your mental health issues and your general health improves.
Cheers from Dools
