Hey, my name is Jason and I'm from Melbourne. I am hoping for some tips to stop drinking, I am now drinking a bottle of vodka in 3 - 4 hours before bed every night.

Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks.

Hi mate and welcome.

i hope you are doing ok. Have you tried searching the forum for some addiction topics? Also you could try contacting some of the council services? I know my comments aren't much help but I guess it's a start, just know your not alone mate.

Hey Jason, Welcome.

Thanks for telling us about your drinking. It can be a difficult thing to admit and more difficult to draw that line and say "enough is enough"

I think for some tips to help you stop drinking, let's chat a bit more about what might be happening that pushes you to the drink to start with.

Are you able to describe how you're feeling and what you're thinking just before you hit the bottle?

hi Jason, can I please add my support to what Greyhound and Paul have replied back to you.
There seems to be so much on your mind now which has made you start doing this, so please I do hope that you can get back to us, but perhaps I can explain what happened with me, not taking anything away from your comment.
When I was in depression I would drink as much as I could so that I could sleep all night, and that's when my wife ( ex ) slept in another room and was a part of her divorcing me.
I have to be honest here Jason, because if you drink a bottle every night, there is an enormous chance of you having seizures and I can tell you these are not at all pleasant as you are taken to hospital and lose the right to drive.
Sorry, at the moment this overshadows your comment, so let's get back to you, because there is a reason why you need to do this, so it's best for you to come back to us, so that we can start to help you. Geoff.
