Welcome to the community here at Beyond Blue.
If you don't mind me asking, have you been to a Dr at all to talk about how you are feeling?
Has anyone ever mentioned to you that you have something wrong with your face? A friend of mine was told she had a very long neck by an Aunt, so she spent the rest of her life covering up her neck due to feelings of insecurity and self consciousness.
There was nothing wrong with her neck at all, she was just different from her Aunt, so her Aunt thought she was different.
Not one of us looks the same. I don't like my looks very much, but I am who I am. I was born this way, so I make the most of it. I still have all the facial features everyone else has, I am just not as pretty as a beautiful model. That does not matter.
How I feel inside is what does matter. If you feel self conscious and at all anxious, it is best to ask for help with this and discuss it with a Dr or counsellor so you can then progress to be the best person you can be.
Next time you go outside, try to hold your head high and smile.
Try not to think that other people are looking at you in a negative way. They may very well not be looking at you at all, it is your mind telling you that is happening.
Sometimes as I walk down the street, I smile and say hello or good morning to people. It makes me feel good inside and sometimes the other person then has a smile on their face as well.
