Hi there, I am in the process of waiting to see someone regarding health related anxiety. For the past 2 weeks I have had a tingling/bubbly feeling (similar to a piece of cotton rubbing on my leg) in the outer side of my left calf. I do not know if this is anxiety related, it happens 10+ times a day randomly. Obviously I have gone to the google route and think I have MS. I am hoping this is not true. Has anyone experienced this feeling, in 1 specific area for longer than a few days? I’ve read about anxiety tingling but I’m not sure if they mean a full limb and only while they are having an anxiety attack, mine is even when I’m not feeling anxious. Thank you!

Hi there 🙂
Anxiety produces all kinds of bodily symptoms - there’s a whole thread on here somewhere! While that’s true, it’s always good to get a professional opinion on anything that’s bothering you. I once thought I had MS too (thanks google!) but it was many years ago, so I’m guessing I don’t.
Health anxiety can be overcome - I’m living proof. I had it, and I no longer do. Good on you for being pro-active and seeing someone. You’re always welcome to chat more here as you like. Katy 🙂

Hello Ashley1994,
Glad to meet you.
& glad you are going to see someone about what you are experiencing. Obviously we are not able to even guess at what the cause of the tingling sensation on your leg. &, Dr Google can't either - not a doctor at all, really, eh? So, it does not help to go searching every little thing in the hope of finding out what it is by googling a description of a sensation.
All the best,
mmMekitty

Hi Ashley,
I am sorry you are experiencing some health anxiety. It is not fun.
This tingling sensation could be anything, including anxiety. The worst thing you can do, as my doc says, is to google! If you are really worried you should see your doctor and get some tests done, if they see fit. It is probably nothing, but I would see your GP to ease your mind. I have a chronic illness so I know it is important to listen to your body. But I have found that googling only makes things worse for your anxiety, it is best to see a professional doctor! They could help your anxiety too.
Hope things improve,
Jaz.
