It is driving me bonkers. It us also causing depression as I force myself to work , and come home to bed.

I have been diagnosed with hiv and now cardio myopathy so chronic illnesses.

It scares me but the anxiety is crippling . I get nauseous and last night the usual tight chest, shallow breathing and so intense to the point I came home , then I get in bed and relax and if feels better . How do you cope if there are real traumas that you have had in your life . If I go to one more phycholigist and they try cbd like please relax and let’s get you rooted to the floor I will scream .

I adjed the last phychologist, have they ever had severe anxiety and the snswer is NO

im struggling as I need to work but I try my hardest to beat it but it gets on top so many times

Hello Termo,

Welcome to BB forums, we are a kind and caring group of people who are non judgmental and would like to try and help you.

Im so very sorry your struggling with so much illness my heart goes out to you.

When my anxiety causes me to have panick attacks, I breath deep and slow, counting my breaths as I go..in for 5 out for 5. I can't imagine the stress you would be going through,

Im pleased to hear that you have professionals looking after your mental health well done for that..

There are a few coping threads here that help with anxiety and how to manage it better.. Just search anxiety in the search bar and some threads will come up..

Usually at night I do some guided meditation and then have some soft instrumental music playing..to calm me down, there are a lot of apps you can down load for free to help you calm your anxiety. some that come to mind are..calm..insight timer...relax meditation..headspace..maybe try a few of these and see how you go...

Please feel free to use this thread as it's yours now, to talk, vent or just chat to the lovely people here, who will offer you some very good suggestions.

Please be gentle with yourself..

Kind and caring thoughts,

Grandy.

Hi Termo,

Sorry that you're having a rough time.

One thing I can see straight away is that you've had anxiety for 26 years... That's 26 years of PROOF that you can handle anything anxiety throws at you. You're an experienced warrior at the frontlines of the terrors of anxiety.

Anyway, to helping you further, Ggrand has some great ideas. I use calm, and I meditate now for at least 10 minutes a day. It definitely brings a sense of ease back into the chaos that anxiety can bring. It also teaches you little techniques that you can use any time to bring yourself back to the present moment.

It may be an easier way forward if you stop trying to 'beat it' and maybe focus on finding ways to live with it. Anxiety can't hurt you. It's actually trying to protect you. Try to accept it and stop fighting it. When you feel those all too familiar feeling of panic, maybe try surrendering to it? Just let it happen, almost to the point where you're thinking "Is that all you've got?" This sends different signals through your mind and body and can have an amazing response.

Let me know how you go

All the best
