Hey people in anxiety forum

Just feel like things are eating me up all of the time. Anxiety wise be it just worrying about how I am as a person, self doubt with the anxiety mixed in. Just not great, brilliant at all and yeah relying on certain things a lot. Whereas would've been more of an even balance trying to find other distractions for the anxiety, than my addictions trying to deal with. Anyway with a support worker here will try and cut it short, but unfortunately has hit me while they're here. This anxiety

Hello Dear StevePLFC,

A warm and caring welcome to our forums..

I’m sorry your struggling with anxiety and self doubt, I think most people with anxiety doubt themselves… most times anxiety is just our thoughts making things hard for us, dreaming up all sorts of different scenarios in our mind…which we cannot control….

I find try to find different things to distract myself, recently I’ve been trying self talk…sometimes it works and other times no!…

When my anxiety was so bad that every day living became too overwhelming for me, I reached out to my Dr…who then helped me find a counsellor that helped me with giving me some coping strategies…Is reaching out to your Dr, something that you have done or are considering?…

Finding ways to ground ourselves and bring us into the present time, is a good way to help ourselves….we have a thread here called “Grounding ourselves, what is it and how do we”…if you feel up to it, maybe search that thread title and have a bit of a read or ask questions on their…

My kindest thoughts with my care Dear Steve,

Hey,   I'm sorry to hear about your anxiety. I guess nowadays is really hard not to get worry about anything. Me myself am full of it. What is helping me a lot (besides medication, therapy, meditation) is grounding. I try to go everyday to walk barefoot at the beach or go to someplace that has grass on it so I can connect with the earth. There is this movie, it is a real research about eletromagnetics that connect us to planet Earth. We got used to TV all the time, mobiles, asphalt, malls, shoes, and sometimes what relieves the anxiety is the nature. I hope that helps. And focus on your breathing when you start thinking about things.

Sorry to hear you've been struggling with anxiety and self-doubt lately. It really sucks when those thoughts start taking over and eating away at your mental health.

A few things that have helped me in the past - I try to get out in nature when I'm feeling especially anxious or down on myself. Just being surrounded by trees and grass seems to help quiet my mind a bit. Going for walks is great for this.

Hey Gipsy yeah any other day solid, reasonable advice. But when nearly 40 degrees outside not a brilliant day for it aha, although yeah fairly solid advice. Breathing is a tough one but yeah fair enough

Yeah fair enough seems to be the common theme. When actually have a reason for it, or just up to it aha- will get out for some walks. More so than now if can, at the moment yeah battling with things and just life really. Life things, tasks don't go away and I get on with them. Is the fact that's just never seen/noticed by people getting in cleaners to my unit and that. And just manipulated, disrespected and sometimes feel discriminated/ridiculed by others
