Dear Ionic~

This condition can indeed tend to rule you life and makes things very awkward. I guess there are two sets of things that come to mind.

Firstly to try to reduce worry try to ensure there is bathroom or toilet with privacy, this not only allows for an unfortunate incident but at the same time may reduce fear of public view.

On a practical level put a suitable receptacle near your bed may ease worries, also by trying to avoid situations, entertainment  and foodstuffs that have had unfortunate effects in the past.

These are all matters dealing wiht the immediate effects, and the base cause really needs to be be looked at to avoid the whole problem. Trying to do this by yourself I would think might be too difficult and you may need guidance and therapy. I have, though for other things.

The god news is that therapy does work and help rid you of this. In other areas I've found going ot the GP or clinician and explaining the problem has been a very hard step, between embarrassment and fear of treatment - or fear of it not working.

I managed ot get around this by writing everything down first (in point form so it is not too long) and handing this over when the appointment started. So far htis technique has worked very well. It gives me time to list a complete picture wihtout leaving anything out and gives the clinician something to work from. I don't have to try to explain everything in one face to face interview.

It is important to seek medical assistance, not only if your condition is a mental health  issue, but so you are properly examined in case it has a physical cause instead that needs treatment.

I read in your other post that life seems to be wihtout hope, and wiht this particular problem there is indeed hope it can be dealt with .

I suspect that in time your other fears may be dealt with too given time and proper assistance. You are certainly not the useless person you believe, quite the opposite. Dealing with all these setbacks is a tribute to your coping skills.

If you would like to come back and say how you are getting on that would be great
