Hello

Well done for telling your teachers about your anxiety.  You sound really smart.

Teachers are only trying to help and protect you not punish you.

What you can say to teachers is first thank them for keeping me safe.

Then when you feel ok you could say to teachers I feel well enough to go out of the classroom and that you promise if you have problems that you will come back to the teacher and stay in classroom.  You want your teachers to trust you that you will come back if your Anxiety comes back at lunch break

🟡 Anxiety often tries to tell us what to do - ie, escape any stressful situation as soon as things begin to feel noticeable.

Now that usually works in the short term, but anxiety has won and we are no further advanced in managing ourselves in overcoming the cause.

🟢 Remaining in class could be beneficial to your recovery and knowing you have the pass is reassurance there is a 'plan B' if required.

Perhaps your teachers are well aware of your situation and you should trust them to intervene if things become too much for you.

🔵 For me, it was the opposite as not knowing what was happening in the classroom would cause more anxiety - my 'perfect attendance' had nothing to do with academia! 🤨

But that's thr problem they do punish me if i do something wrong and it's unfair and all I have done is express the following issues and they tell me to suck it up and go sit back down if I'm crying they kick me out of the classroom and tell me I'm over reacting tell me how that's helping just saying

Hello.

Do you want to tell me what sort of things your getting punished for that you feel is unfair.

Only tell me if it wont upset you

Or have you told your mum about it.  Your mum maybe able to give you answers at why they keeping you in classroom.

Well let's start off with this when I was having a panic attack they never gave me any comfort they yelled at me abd told me to suck it up when I was crying they told me I was over reacting when I defend myself thw teachers tell me women can't defend myself tell me how the gell that's not a punishment

It doesnt sound like punishment but it sounds like the teachers are not sympathetic to your panic attacks.  I agree the teachers need to listen to you and understand you so the teachers can do a better job of helping you.

I hear you are distressed and what I think Im hearing from you is you want and need to be validated by your teachers and not be dismissed.  This is not unreasonable.   If you have a counsellor at school they would be the right people to tell as they have more understanding of panic attacks.  Sometimes adults dont know how to deal with everything and some have no experience in Mental Health concerns.  Your job is to find someone in School such as the school counsellor whom can understand and help you.

Hi Angie, I know this post was a while ago. Good on you communicating to adults how you are feeling. Some teachers are not trained on mental health. If you have a GP ask for a mental health plan and choose a psycologist that has experience working with young people. The psycologist can work with your teachers to have an action plan when your anxiety surfaces at school.
