Anxiety

Hello I was just wondering does anyone else have anxiety about taking medication I can’t take medication longer then 2 days with out thinking that the medication is giving me side effects or making me crazy

Hi David,

I have anxiety about medication.

I have 3 medications that I can take for different things like headaches or my anti depressants. Outside of them I have real trouble. I worry that I will react badly.

For some reasons it’s worse if things are in pill form. Eg I could probably have cough medicine ok.

My trouble though is starting the medication. Once I’ve taken it for a couple of days and nothing bad has happened I calm down about it and can finish a prescription.

Yep i have major anxiety about taking medication. Scared of the side effects, expecially the odd sensations and spaced out feeling. Currently one of my biggest problems as im trying to work up the courage to reinstate. Same thing i take medication, feel ill after a day or so and then stop taking it (chicken out). Was on a SNRI for quite a few years. Was fine then i stopped taking it and all hell broke loose - got discontinuation syndrome. Trying to put the genie back into the bottle now.
