Hi Tamara,
Sorry to hear you're not doing too well.
Have you seen a GP yet? There are medications to help control the anxiety and they have helped me a lot. I still get panicky and anxiety often, but I have Graves' Disease which makes it feel that my heart is going to pop out of my chest at times and I'm generally quite agitated.
I hope you find the help you need so you can feel better and keep some food down.
Richard

Hi and welcome Tamara;
I was on at 2am this morning and sent a long response to you but it was lost from a glitch in our system. I was so tired I couldn't reply again and slept. But I did report the 'error' to your thread before leaving.
Xavius has given some great advice. Going to your GP to get referrals to a psychologist or psychiatrist and a mental health/medication plan is essential for ongoing treatment and recovery.
Last night I asked if you have an idea of the reason for this anxiety and panic turning up. Mine was due to bullying in my workplace and long term Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. (PTSD)
Having a starting point makes all the difference. For me it meant looking at the previous hrs prior to a panic attack for instance to see what might've triggered me. This has become my 'norm' now. I don't trigger as often or as severely due to being proactive and understanding what makes me scared.
However, medication was a staple for getting me into a head space so the above could occur. Quality sleep is the foundation to recovery! Anxiety med's (for sleep as well) gave mind stability and relief from symptoms long enough to track my thoughts and behaviour, and get back on track.
We have lots of info below in the links as well as a counselling service to provide verbal shedding of your concerns. If you visit our section on 'Treatment Options', there's a thread where you can ask Dr Kim for her expertise.
I and others like me (Xavius/Richard) are here to help and guide you thru this period in your life. Please take advantage of us and this forum to enrich your day with our support and encouragement...that's why we're here.
Well wishes...Sara (big hug)
BTW Richard...great to see your support on this site...well done!

Sara,
Your post is nicely detailed. I couldn't think of anything else to write, my mind has been all over the place. You're definitely a champion.
Tamara,
I hope you're OK. There are plenty of us that care for your well-being. I have recently been trying to use meditation as a tool as well, to help calm the nerves. I've been doing this every day as well and I've come to the point where I can control my breathing and relax my body a lot of the time. There are plenty of free resources on youtube.
Best of luck
Richard

Thankyou for the complement Richard;
You're doing a bang-up job of supporting others. I found in the beginning, that focusing on people who needed help was a way to enrich my own life and avoid my tortured head space. It worked a treat as I hope it does for you.
You never know, you could end up joining us here as a peer supporter too!
Good luck and keep up the amazing work...Sara xo
Tamara...we're still here if you need us..Hugs

My anxiety is through the roof. I know what is causing mine but to cope with is horrid. I wish I were somewhere truly alone with no one around. I miss living alone but cannot afford to do it.
I walk, meditate, qigong, but all is temporary relief for a very short time. I suppose it is all we have to get through until this is out of my system.
I also like tension tamer tea but have not been well enough to hunt for it lately.
I hope you find something to help
