Hi,
ive recently just started seeing a psychologist for my anxiety and also to deal with some struggles through childhood with my adoptive sister who was very violent.
I’ve never really been effected by it as I’ve just brushed it aside and have amazing parents who helped me through, but since going to see this psychologist I have noticed werid things happening with my body. I’ve been having tingling sensations in my hands, arms legs and feet abs sometimes face. I have no pain just werid sensations that worry me. I have been googling my symptoms and everything pretty much says MS and this is has absolutely terrified me. I can’t get it off my mind, I’ve not eaten in a few days or when I do I have the smallest thing, I’ve hardly been drinking water, I just sit in a constant fear I have this disease and the worry is taking over me. Every morning I wake up feeling sick and have these constant feelings, the more I think about them the more I can feel then. My dr is sending me fir an MRI and I am praying it comes back ok abs these symptoms are just my anxiety playing up.
has anyone ever had similar symptoms or felt the same way?
thanks x

Hi Rhirhi2,
I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through at the moment. It's a huge coincidence, but someone posted in the forum today with a really similar thing: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/anxiety/face-tingling-due-to-anxiety-#P-zAHncRSEeWRSBxoXu-GA
I had a look at this for JumpyJump and tingling can be a symptom of anxiety and it seems like it happens to more people than you'd think! I linked some other forum posts I'd found around tingling symptoms in JumpyJumps post. I'd recommend you have a read of them too to see if you can relate to their stories 🙂

Hi Rhirhi2’s,
sorry you are feeling this way.
Please don’t google symptoms it’s one of the worst things we can do for our anxiety....
I had severe anxiety OCD I use to google symptom all of the time until I learned it was a compulsion of mine so I stopped doing it, it only made me worry more and my anxiety worse....
please tell your gp and phycologist what you are feeling now.... 😊
talk to your health professionals and try to stop googling symptoms....
There are many strategies your phycologist can give you for anxiety.,,
😊

Thanks guys!
I ended up in a&e yesterday I was in so much of a panic I had to go.
they did some neurological exams on me and checked my bloods and said all was normal and what I was experiencing was just anxiety. I’m still going to go for my mri on Monday just to settle my mind but I have a feeling I’m suffering with health anxiety.
symptoms that I didn’t have that the dr mention yesterday to me I feel I have today, I think I’m thinking too much and am making myself believe I have the symptoms, it’s such a vicious cycle 😞
xx

Hi Rhirhi2’s,
Sorry you are feeling this way...... yes it is a viscous cycle.......
Your phycologist can give you many strategies for your anxiety.... have you mindfulness or attention training?
When you are having the thoughts try to redirect your attention to something in the present moment....
when you are washing the dishes how does the water feel? What can you hear? How does the water smell ? This practice will bring you out of your head ....your attention will be on the present moment... it takes practice but with practice you will get better at it ...
hang in there you will get through it ..
here if you want to chat 😊

Hey,
thanks for all the tips!
the last couple of days I’ve been feeling much better, saw my psychologist today and she gave me some great calming techniques. It was called emotional freedom technique, if you google it look for the one from Gary Colman she said that’s best. It may come in helpful for anyone else struggling.
just got back from my mri scan and will get my results on Wednesday. The most part of me know believes it is just my anxiety as I’ve been able to push it aside the last few days.
thanks again for all your kind words of help, fingers crossed my results are all good and I can focus on squishing this anxiety!
xxx
