Mother

31st July coming around to mark the passing of my dear mum 4 long years ago. Today also would have been my 14th wedding anniversary. My birthday in the 26th so hate July...... good and bad memories. On my own so will visit cemetery and wish i was with mum. Tried last month but failed. That's life haha. No pun intended.

Every day life is tedious though i have a good friend i catch up with. I now volunteer as a visitor to people in aged care so should be grateful that i can help someone worse off than me. Guess it is month i hate. Just find something to take my mind off things.
Who said life was not meant to be easy? Money does not buy happiness but need it for every day things. Whats life meant to teach me??
Oh well i will get over myself and think of my helping in the community while struggling with depression and always on tablets. Such is life. Not sorry for myself. Just need motivation.

Tomorrow another year to remember my lovely gentle soul mother who would have been 98 this year. She had the most gentle kind nature and I am proud to call her mum, friend, ally and more. She was the world to me and miss her. It will be 4 years in July exactly 5 days after my birthday and though time fades, never my memory of her.

She always supported me through my days before I got diagnosed with major depression. All the ups and downs she remained true. I am truly thankful for my 4.9 (no. 5' tall mum would insist. ha ha) tall mum. How I enjoyed our outings together, our sense of humour and the love she gave me. Thank you mum for all the good times. I remember when I got angry, she would say talk it out as its better to have an empty house than a bad tenant - meaning don't let all the anger stay inside. I will visit the cemetery and have my memories and remember. Enjoy your mothers every day not just one day a year. Life is too short. Will be glad when I can join her someday.

Dear Rusty Girl~

It sounds like you have inherited a lot of you mother's wisdom and humor, something I'm sure she would have seen develop in you for herself. The business of the tenant has great practical sense, a bit like not going to sleep angry at another.

So true! Life is much too short. My mother passed away suddenly and I only wish I could have spent these last 20 years with her. The world is missing such a beautiful person.

I love that saying - I'm going to use that with my own family/ kids!

Thank you for sharing!

I am thankful I managed to listen to her as she was a very down to earth but sensible lady and I am glad I was able to get her sense of humour and common sense approach. Just wish had listened to more of her wisdoms when it came to my mental health. Guess I have to learn the hard way..

Dear Rusty Girl~

As you would have realized on reflection, it is not so much a matter of having listened at the time, but having her now in your heart as an example to draw on. She is still supporting you and reminding you of love.

Being with my.mum when she passed was emotional confronting and challenging but glad i stayed for 12 hours
Talking to her was cathartic and when i told her to take the final step she sighed and left me as if she was waiting for.my.approval. although sad i knew she was ready to go. July is always a sad.month but wish she had been here to see me pass my tafe course. Thankful i had a great.mum.

Dear Rusty~

Your presence would have meant a lot, when drawing to the close the important things are all. I sat beside my late wife in similar circumstances, I am grateful fate gave me the chance.

We are here to sit beside you when things are not good, there can be comfort in simple quiet company
