Hi,

To be honest I don't know what I'm doing most of the time. I came here because I was told to and I'm a little hesitant, anyways...

Lately I have been finding getting up, going to school and focusing on things very difficult. Am I the only one like this? Surely not right? How do you get started again? What can I do to get started again?

I looked it up online, talked it out and still it's difficult. But what do others do when they're like this I wonder.

Hi Ikonic,

What you are experiencing might be some signs of depression which comes in many forms, from mild to severe. It's best to address your issues now and probably seek medication from your doctor and also psychologist. It does help, and most importantly, it stops your depressive symptoms from developing into a more serious condition. I am not saying it that it will develop, but prevention is better than cure.

Hello iKONIC

Welcome to Beyond Blue. No need to be hesitant here. No one knows who you are so whatever you say cannot be attributed to you. This is a place where venting is encouraged, asking questions is encouraged and we will offer our thoughts and comments.

Looking things up online can be a dicey as there are some strange websites out there. Safe places to search are Kids Helpline www.kidshelpline.com.au Headspace www.headspace.org.au The Black Dog Institute www.blackdoginstitute.org.au and of course Beyond Blue. BB also has a young persons website The Desk www.thedesk.org.au I suggest you search on any of the sites for information.

As Alexei has suggested, you may have a slight depression. The only way to know for certain is to visit your GP. You can go on your own if you wish, but having some support may be quite useful. Tell your GP how you have been feeling and for how long. If you feel you may become nervous write down everything about how you have been feeling and take these notes with you.

A different suggest is to speak to one of your school counselors. I know this can be uncomfortable at times so it's up to you if you pursue this avenue. However, I really urge you to talk to a someone who is qualified in mental health issues.

Get back to us with your comments.

Mary

Hey iKONIC15,

I'm Melissa and i read the whole thing. If your finding it hard to start again, take it easy. Talk to a teacher at school and see if you can get less work.

If you focusing on very difficult things, try to not. I know it is easy said then done, but just give it a try. You will always be able to restart this.
I'm also in school and I find things getting easier each day by being organised and doing homework.
Think of the positive things and try to make things more easy in life.

I hope I helped somehow. Good-bye and have a safe life
