I'm at the end of my line.

For the last couple of weeks, my life has taken an unexpected turn. I've given up on the things I used to enjoy or at least I've come to understand that those are situations I don't want to stick myself into, I've isolated myself from friends and society mostly...but most of all I'm just feeling tired of life.

I want to die and I don't feel any negative thought about it, I've given it a good try and have realised that I don't have a place in this world. Why am I saying this? Because I need my choice to be understood and accepted as my own.

What has happened in the last few weeks mate to make things change? From what you are saying it sounds like things could have been okay before then?

I've suffered from depression for about 14yrs, I knew the signs and things were manageable even at their worst...but now it feels more peaceful.

Depression can feel isolating. But it doesn’t have to be. When we talk about depression, we inform each other about how to help and for that reason, reaching out can have so much power.

We wanted to take a moment to reach out to you ourselves at this time as it sounds like you may have made a decision and a plan to suicide. Still, you are reaching out to others, which tells us there is some part of you that knows how this will hurt others and you don't want to do that. We always have a choice in life, suicide is a permanent decision though and it's effects do ripple through the lives of everyone who've known you, sometimes showing up in family members for decades to come. There are other options to finding the things you enjoy again, to reconnecting with family, and to getting the support you deserve. Your safety is of paramount importance through a process for recovery from how you are feeling, and it is possible.

We strongly encourage you to speak with your GP ASAP about what is going on, and if they are not available within the next very short while, then speaking to your local mental health team for more immediate support.
