Struggling with University and last minute information

Hi there, no problem. That’s correct…

Obviously, I wish I had known that the last two weeks are public holidays. If I had, I could have planned something. Now, it feels too late and scary because the assignment is reaching its final phase, especially the subject with the seniors.

There was one scenario where a group member said I wasn’t supposed to be in the group. Now, I’m too scared to figure this out because it’s very last minute. The other subject is because either the lecture instructions or the information was very unclear or very last minute. Or, I need to go places, and the group member is like, “Don’t care if I’m in the group. If I miss out or something, it’s all on me. The group member won’t be responsible if I miss out or willing to clarify.” I’m unsure whether the class lecture and the group’s assumption is that everyone knows or what. But I for sure know that I wish I had chosen a better group. Sadly, I can’t because all the spots are filled, and that’s not something that can be done anymore.

Now, I’m filled with worry and fear that I might fail or receive a grade of zero for a subject simply because of this. I feel like the entire project relies on the organization of my group members. I’m at a loss for what to do at this point and am concerned about the possibility of failing due to lateness or difficulties. I wish I could have been in a group with better members. I’m unsure of what to do and feel that there’s a risk of failing because of these issues. I should contact these people for clarification, but it wasn’t the case during the previous semester. I wish I had been in a group with better members.

Fellow Uni student here! I’m in my final year and have experienced many of the trials and tribulations you are experiencing currently!

Firstly, in terms of the public holidays stuff. Just because it’s last minute doesn’t always necessarily mean there’s nothing you can sort out! I am also diagnosed with ADHD and although these times can be SUPER overwhelming it is TOTALLY doable! This might be unethical to suggest, but I have found when I am overwhelmed putting in my exam/final assignments dates into an AI (such as Claude) with what the marking rubric and getting me to generate a study schedule really helpful and somewhat stress relieving!

In terms of the group assignment, it’s always better to reach out later rather than never! Your tutors/lecturers/subject coordinators will appreciate that you reached out to let them know what is happening and how you have tried to rectify the situation. You have support all around you, just need to know where to look 🫶

As someone who has failed not one but 2 university subjects… one of them being twice, always reach out! I am on my third attempt at one subject and I wish that I had collected my Pokémon of supports sooner! I think it would have made a massive difference in my university studies and grades!

I would also like to know what you are doing to keep yourself sane during this exam season?

I am approaching mine and I always feel some off study days and time with my friends can be really soothing and keep me sane during this busy and stressful time! Please don’t forget to take care of yourself!

I appreciate your response bro! I will try to read and reconsider to improve myself. Of course, My only hope is not to fail any subject just because of unclear instructions from others...
