Hi there,

A warm welcome to the forums, thanks for your post!

I'm sorry to hear about the difficult time you're going through right now. I hear that you're feeling overwhelmed and that's valid. It's sounds like you have a lot on your plate. It's ok to feel this way and there's no pressure or rush to feel better straight away.

I first just wanted to ask if you have told anyone about this like your parents? I know it's hard to be missing school and I'm curious if the school has contacted you? I would suggest telling someone you trust first and honestly sharing how you're feeling and how it's impacting your life, and then hopefully talking to a GP about this. Maybe you could email your coordinator or school psychologist to let them know too and get the support you need.

It's not your fault that you're going through this. I relate to the longing to just enjoy life and finding it hard to do so. You're not alone, there truly is support out there. As for short-term solutions, I would suggest trying box breathing (look it up) as I have found it to be really helpful in periods of anxiety and I think you should give it a go. Remind yourself that this will pass, what you're experiencing now is temporary. You do have the capacity to live your life well and enjoy it. I know it seems impossible right now, but I have found that trying to do things that I enjoy in the present have helped me to cope. Do you have any interests/hobbies you can do to boost your mood when you're feeling low? It could be something small like watching a movie, drinking a cup of tea, reading a book, etc. I have found journalling to be extremely helpful too. I actually started journalling when I was 13! Just write out all your thoughts/worries/feelings, etc. and hopefully your mind will feel a bit clearer.

It's ok not to be ok right now. I know you want to improve and you're strong for recognising your struggles and seeking support on here. You are more than welcome to continue chatting here on the forums, we're here for you. I hope this helps ❤️

Take care,

PsychDiaries

tysm for replying! my parents do know abt my struggles and i have been seeing a therapist for a few months now, and she does help quite a bit when i see her. Usually when i'm not feeling great mentally i talk to my friends or try to write a song, that seems to help. thank you again

Hi,

I go through the same things everyday, but my parents don't know. Some things that have helped me are having a safe area, and having something to distract yourself, like a book to sneak to class and some fidgets to help regulate. I hope this helps a bit

-Sky
