Hi Mina19,

Thanks for your post. Sorry that your other one might have slipped through - have you checked the 'my threads' section?

With your question though, you might find this thread helpful - https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/anxiety/what-happens-when-we-get-anxiety--(info-thread)#qroL13HzvGGEbv8AAOnT_A

Most of us will get anxiety at some time, but anxiety disorders are when we're constantly in that flight-fight response (or when you're constantly having your mind race and breathing get panicky). I have an anxiety disorder so I'm pretty familiar with what you're experiencing!

Hope that this helps,

Hi I’m not sure if my other post went through? I didn’t see it but wanted to know why do some of the smallest things make me so nervous like I just feel in a constant state of panic and anxiety. I feel like it may be related to a past traumatic event I went through but I just feel like I can’t calm down or relax my mind is always racing and then in turn when I get anxious my breathing gets panicky and I have to dash to the loo. It’s just really crazy. I wanted to know is this like do people actually go through things like this??

Hi Mina19,

It seems as though there were some small technical problems with the forum last night. Sorry if you lost your post.

The symptoms you are describing sound a lot like an anxiety disorder. Without treatment the anxiety can get worse and worse until it feels like you are constantly anxious.

I have similar feelings, though since I've been receiving counselling it is no longer constant, it comes and goes.

Have you spoken to your doctor about how you are feeling?

You could also try some mindfulness exercises. They really help me when I have trouble breathing. It allows me to keep moving forward until the anxiety passes.

kind thoughts Jess
