My "Best Friend" is controlling me and she is really really annoying and i want space but she s really clingy but I don't know what to do about it, what should i do?

hi Sophie-lea, can I just ask you a couple of questions, and I bog you down so there's are only basic ones, does she talk over you, interrupt you, tell you what to wear etc. or does she expect you to do what she says but doesn't help you.
You want space, you have to tell her, tell exactly how you feel, it may mean that she won't be your 'best friend' anymore, but at the moment does this really matter.

Ohh this is tricky! I'm guessing that even though you want space you don't want to hurt her feelings either.

Given that we don't know much about what's going on I'm just going to through out some ideas and see if any click with you.

- Try and meet new people together. She might be clingy because she doesn't really have any other friends to hang out with; so the more people that she knows the less she might be clingy

- Set some boundaries. Maybe this looks like only hanging out with her for a little bit of time; so you can still see her but not for too long.

- What do you plan to do if you get some space? Is it having time to read books/do hobbies? You can say no. Or if saying no is hard you could say 'hey kinda busy right now but how about Saturday?' That way you still get some space but she knows you haven't forgotten about her
