Hi mej,

I am sorry you are feeling disheartened right now but you have lots of time left to meet someone.

I have lots of friends who didn't find partners until their mid 30's, some had their first child at 40.

The key is putting yourself into positions to meet new people. It's all a numbers game really, it takes time to meet someone that you are compatible with.

Perhaps you can find some social groups to join or a team sport if you are able to. Alternatively you can search for meeting place on the internet. From what I understand they organise groups of like minded people to catch up. It might be for movies or coffee or outings. Perhaps that might be a good place to meet someone.

Trying to find a wider social group by making friends too at these places may lead to introduction to new people too. Don't feel rushed you have lots of time.

Kind thoughts,

Carol

Hi Mej,

Carol has given you quite advice/suggestions. I am 30, still live at home and am not married. I have a partner (reason I am on this forum) but I can't say he is the one as yet as given the current situation we have quite a bit to sort out.

Like you - when was in my 20s I thought I be married and have kids by 27 but here I am now - goals unmet. Don't be in a rush to meet anyone. Take your time to meet the right one. As Carol said the best way is broaden your social circles - play a sport, join a club, go online to meet people even (that is where I met my partner).

If it helps - alot of my friends around 26-30 are unmarried and a few of them single.
