I need to know if kids are taken away everytime a single mum can't cope due to drug addiction

Welcome here to the Forum. I'm sorry you find yourself in this position as I suspect you love your kids a lot.

I can't give you a cut and dried answer to your question. I would suspect (though I might be completely wrong) it depends upon two things, the first being the welfare of the children, if they are safe, in a stable environment, are well loved, have enough to eat, clothed, go to school if that is appropriate and are not exposed to harmful influences. Their own views may be sought too.

There are obviously more factors than that, but it might give you a starting place.

The second is your condition, ability to look after them and if you are taking steps that can be seen to improve your own condition.

I would suggest you may need an advocate, and I'd not be sure what would be appropriate. If the Women's Legal Services have an office near you they may be a good resource, other than that I'd suggest a chat with our own 24/7 free councilors.
