Hi kathryn,

I hope it’s okay if I extend a caring welcome to you here...

Something is clearly making you feel very on edge and frightened, which sounds horrible...

You sound very lonely too and that you’ve been struggling for some time...25 years is a long time...

I would take it that it has also been discouraging to have seen people and feel it hasn’t been helpful...

It would be lovely to continue supporting you. There’s absolutely no pressure to share more than what you feel comfortable sharing, but would you like to tell us a little more about what has been happening lately/more about you? As I said, no pressure though....

Kind and warm thoughts,

Pepper

Hey Kathryn,

Sorry to hear that you have been struggling for such a long time. You are not on your own. You have us! Do you have any friends or family that are a part of your support network?

Anxiety is tough at the best of times and you don't deserve to have to live everyday worrying and being scared. You have the right and deserve to be happy and enjoy a good quality of life.

You mention that you have seen people. Which health professionals have you seen and have you seen them regularly and for a prolonged period of time? An important aspect of treatment and recovery is the client-professional relationship. Did you enjoy a good relationship with your professionals? It helps so much if your professional carers for you and you feel comfortable expressing your emotions with them.

Is there a reason why you feel scared? If you could tell us a bit more about your situation, if your are comfortable doing so of course, we may be able to assist you further 🙂

All the best,

Nick.

Hi Nick its awhile since i was here. I feel scared of life and whats happened. Nervous child, Mum had to work as Dad left, rape, left good husband, worked at Aus Post, met partner who had dissaccociate disorder ( I didnt know when I met him), Hurt my neck at work in 1993 and have had chronic pain ever since. My partner of 20yrs couldnt handle the consequences of the pain. 2004 started 9 years of family deaths one after the other. 6 major stomach operations year after year. Aus Post hearing for compo-I failed. Hobart Pain Clinic for over 20yrs in Dec 2016 new Dr who doesnt help and has now written a letter to say I cant have strong pain relief so I have not had any pain relief for 5 months. What can I do? If I didnt still have my old dog I would exit this world. There is nothing no, point at all. Kathryn

Sorry I havent answered before this. I appreciate your kind reply Pepper. Pain Clinic Dr who is relatively new wrote a letter to say I cant have strong pain relief for the chronic pain so I have not had any pain relief for 5 months. I just cant believe this is happening. I have been going to the Pain Clinic for over 20yrs and have never abused my pain relief meds. Angry and frustrated. Kathryn01

Hey Kathryn,

I was happy to see your response pop up in my notifications today!

It seems like you have had a rough time and I can feel that these have all been painful experiences for you. Chronic pain is a terrible thing to have to live with on a daily basis. Have you been to your GP and discussed whether he or she would refer you to another pain specialist or a neurologist?

It is possible to discuss medical marijuana with your GP/health professionals. This is a far better and safer option then possibly relying on the use of opioids which can lead to dependency.

Stay strong.

Nick

Hi Kathryn

My hubby has chronic pain too. You need to get someone to advocate for you... your GP, your previous doctor, someone? To have chronic pain with no relief would indeed make you very anxious, on top of all the other "life" you have experienced.

Good luck
