My Husband and I are two very different people who love each other the biggest issue is that I have a big family that he cannot handle and just wants a life with me and my daughter.

At any rate, my family s also huge where as ex w's family was only small but oddly we saw 10x more of here small family than all of mine combined. l felt a lot like your H , l didn't like spending too much time with hers but, nor mine either although l did fit in much better with mine we were totally different people to hers even she was too.

At any rate non the less, 22yrs of having them up at ours -3hrs away, whether we felt like it or not , can't say as l miss that stuff, like your H l would've been much happier with just our little family and circle myself.

l dunno where the line is, ex was pretty good at keeping them to a min' though for my part, which was really good of her and she wasn't that fussed herself it was mainly just them insisting on coming up all the time. Although when we lived interstate they'd come up for 3 wks at a time, that was just painful.

Yours probably know your H isn't that into them, they did and don't think they cared much if l was there or not as we didn't even get along it was mainly about them seeing ex and our d.

l dunno, it was always a real tough one for us but we'd kinda compromise as much as we could- she'd try to keep them at a min ' , l'd be out on a few visits but l'd stick around on others and at least try to make a bit of an effort and appearance.

Is it important and special to you to host events?
do you think you could find a compromise with him?

if he is able to communicate why he doesn’t enjoy it, perhaps you could find solutions that would make him feel more comfortable with having your family in your home, or agree on a number of events that you can host through the year, example one event every two months?
