It sounds like you may be having difficulties in areas of your life away from work, and that you feel like work is a place where you can disconnect from these and focus on something else for a while.

I can resonate with that. It can be useful to have different sectors of your life that don't bleed into one another so that you have spaces where you don't have to think about the difficult things for a moment.
