Hi Cinda,

It can sometimes take a week or more for your body to adjust to new medication. If you are concerned, I'd recommend seeing the doctor who prescribed you the medication.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to give you specific medical advice, and don't know your situation or the medication you are taking. Definitely see your doctor about this if you are concerned.

Best wishes,

Hi Cinda,

With lots of anti-depressants and anti-psychotics it takes 2-4 weeks for the drug to build up in your system and start working on your brain. Many people experience heightened anxiety during the onset period so what you're going through is completely normal and should resolve itself really soon.

If the heightened anxiety is really concerning you I suggest speaking to your GP about strategies to reduce the side effects of the medication.
