topic Has anyone tried the MTHFR Gene testing? in Treatments, health professionals and therapies

Hey Neenie!

I would like to know more about MTHFR genetic testing if you want to let me know. Its only my experience with anxiety/depression but from what I have studied so far I have learned that these problems/health issues come from a wide area...Upbringing...How you were nurtured and encouraged as a child...or a baby for that matter...and if you have had any major events in your life that have had a profound effect on you...

Your topic is a good one Neenie and with all respect (just my humble opinion of course) these disorders can be 'triggered' from your upbringing and/or any significant life event later on...death of a close relative...physical trauma....illness.

I do find your topic interesting and valid and I do hope you can advise us on any further info you get...

As for right now....there are many successful coping mechanisms available through the people on the BB Forums if you wish to have.

Even if I did (as a sufferer) have the gene...I would still have to slowly learn some coping mechanisms to deal with the current state of any anxiety/depression/insomnia..which I am fortunate that I have Neenie.

If I may...just a little tip on insomnia...Turn off any cellphone/ipad screen before bed...They can overstimulate the nerve impulses in the brain...and keep you up longer by increasing your brain activity which of course will effect your ability to sleep..

We are here if you wish to get back to us Neenie

Kind Thoughts

Hi Paul!

Thanks for your reply. I really don't know too much that's why i was writing to see if anyone had testing done and new more about it. I do no that there are many factors to why people have mental illness and this will not help everyone. I guess i just wanted to see if that gene theory had helped people who had the gene with their illness. I know this isnt going to help all but id get tested if i thought i could help. You should google and see stories in the newspaper about people who have got great benefit on their mental health for getting this test.
