Dear Jesse Y~

I'd like to welcome you here to the Forum. It can be quite hard to make that first post to a bunch of strangers however I'm glad you did as it most often helps, there will be some here who have the same sort of circumstances and you can talk about what helps.

I'm probably not the best person to talk about bipolar. My illness has been depression and anxiety, there I'm on more familiar ground, though it was very much a combination of the right meds (which took a lot of finding) together with time and therapy that helped me reach a reasonable recovery.

To talk with those experience is closer to your problems I guess I'd recommend this thread:

Howdy everyone so basically I was diagnosed with ADD at 19 and ever since being put on medication I have experienced bouts of depression, social anxiety and addiction. I’m now 28 and have tried so many different techniques for helping my depression but I have been told by my psychiatrist that I most likely have bipolar. Does anyone have some good techniques or podcasts that will definitely help reduce the affect of my depression and Bipolar symptoms? Any help would be absolutely wonderful. I hope everyone is doing well. Much love 🙂

Dear Jesse Y~

It's good to hear from you again. Your life sounds a very taxing one where htere are no easy fixes. Now that I come to think of it you had asked about podcasts to help with depression and bipolar. I have found the talks by Brené Brown to be very sensible and give a different perspective on some of the things we feel, and some of the outside things that affect us.

The heap of material on YouTube is free and a good starting point:-

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=berne+brown+sympathy

As for vitamins, I'm a bit reluctant to say much as I have some deficiencies others do not have and thus am not typical. I'd suggest the next time you visit your GP you have a chat about them and see what is recommended, maybe even have a blood test and see what you might be low in.

Getting help for OBSESSIVE LOVE DISORDER - Having Obsessive thoughts about my ex yet being in a new healthy relationship.
hey guys hope everyone is well. So basically a little back story my ex partner and I decided to have a break in late December of 2020 and under the impression that we would get back together after working on ourselves. It got to March 2021 after months of no contact that I messaged my ex to see if we would continue to date yet she said she didn’t think so and that was our last contact. I didn’t get closure yet I now know she was trying to let me down easy and I have great respect and nothing but kindness towards her. I now have a brilliant new girlfriend yet still have obsessive thoughts about my ex partner. I was diagnosed with bipolar and was in a great deal of stress when the thoughts began to start but I now can not get her out of my head and it has taken a great strain on my mental well being. I have done some research and it looks like I have obsessive love disorder but I have no idea how to treat it and when I asked for help in the past I was told that I was a terrible person for having thoughts about my ex. Any help with my situation would be greatly appreciated. I love my girlfriend and want nothing but happiness for my ex but I just want to move on with my life so me and my new partner can be at peace and be happy. I hope everyone is doing great. Love you all
